You should know

• You’re welcome to bring dogs along with you (the accommodation is suitable for two large or three small/medium size dogs), however, please be aware that the property is right next to a body of water and the deck isn’t necessarily ‘escape-proof’.

Green Haven is a fabulous family retreat that sits on the edge of a lake in the Cotswolds Water Park. The newly-built home offers modern interiors and a wonderful outdoor space where you can gather together on warm days and gaze out across the water.

When you arrive, you’ll want to drop your bags off in your room before congregating in the open plan living area. Here you’ll find the big comfy L-shaped sofa, where you can settle in for a movie night with your loved ones or sip on a morning coffee as you plan the day’s activities. Just across from the sofa sits the dining table, that’s big enough to seat your entire group, setting the scene for wonderful meals together. When it comes to preparing meals, the modern kitchen is nicely equipped with everything you need and there’s also a kitchen island where you can perch with a drink in hand and keep your loved one company as they chop and slice away.

The open plan living space also features big glass doors that open up onto your huge private terrace. Step outside on warmer days and dine alfresco on the outdoor dining table, all whilst breathing in the fresh air and making the most of the lake views. This is the perfect place to sit in the evening and watch as the sun begins to set, whilst sipping something delicious and catching up with old friends.

Back inside, you can challenge your loved ones to a game of pool on the pool table (which converts into the dining table at dinner). Then, when night falls, head to one of the marvellous bedrooms, all of which are designed to offer a tranquil night’s sleep.

The Cotswold Water Park is packed with fantastic on-site amenities. Test your skills on one of the three all-weather tennis courts, including a floodlit option for evening play, or let the little ones run wild in the adventure playground and dedicated football area. There’s also croquet, boules and table tennis for friendly competition, as well as an indoor games room featuring table football and a pool table.

For water lovers, Windrush Lake is the perfect spot to launch your paddleboard, kayak or canoe, offering hours of fun on the water. If fishing is your passion, you’ll find well-stocked carp and trout lakes around the site - just bring your rod license and get ready to cast off in stunning surroundings.

For a change of scene head out into the Cotswolds for a delicious pub lunch in the picturesque villages such as South Cerney, Cerney Wick and Bourton-on-the-Water.
