Grade II listed home in Kent with a beautiful swimming pool, cinema room and lots of social spaces.
A glorious Georgian home, plentiful of character and charm, Craythornes offers the ideal place for families, friends and couples to come together for a memorable stay on the Kent coast.
This beautiful, Grade II listed home is brimming with character, from original wooden floorboards and beams, to large brick and inglenook fireplaces, mixed with curious, hand-picked artwork and fabulous antiques.
With plenty of space to all be together yet with nooks and crannies to explore alone should it be privacy you seek. At the heart of the house, steeped in history, an open plan kitchen, with breakfast table and sofa seating, provides a beautiful social space against the backdrop of the oversized inglenook with roaring wood burner, with a door leading out to the garden.
Memorable meals together can be had around the large dining table, seating up to 18. Whilst a few unwind in the sitting room in front of the impressive open brick fire, others may enjoy a competitive game of pool or retreat to the cinema room to watch a classic movie on the large projector screen.
But for those sunny days, the beautifully unique thatched orangery with views over the garden offers the most peaceful of settings to sit with a good book or to listen to a record playing on the vintage vinyl player.
Come evening, retreat to one of the five spacious bedrooms, with additional single beds in three of the bedrooms ideal for families.
Set in a large, lawn garden, with heated swimming pool at the heart, Craythornes has something to entertain all. With table tennis table for the more active of the group, and garden games for competitive afternoons in the sun, with the fenced, heated swimming pool sure to be the favourite place to be, with sunbeds to fully unwind and pool towels provided.
With large pond, inhabited with impressive koi carp, children whilst needing to be supervised will have fun feeding the fish, and have plenty of space around the garden to run free. Meals alfresco are easily enjoyed at the large outside dining table, should they be cooked upon the gas BBQ, or a chef organised to cook a hassle free and sumptuous feast.
Ideally situated just minutes walk from New Romney's quaint high street, where you will find a choice of cafes, restaurants, pubs and a small selection of shops to sample. If you can bear to leave the grounds and character of Craythornes to explore, there is plenty to do and see nearby, with the sands of St Mary’s Bay and pebbles of Littlestone Beach a five-minute drive away.
