Set in the beautiful Suffolk countryside, this striking building, built in the 1950s as a water tower, has been creatively transformed into luxurious holiday accommodation for large groups of friends and family. Inside, you’ll find plenty of space for up 18 guests over seven floors with a lift to get you from one level to another. Enjoy delicious meals together in the huge modern kitchen, snuggle up in front of a movie in the cinema room or soak up the stunning views of the Shotley Peninsula from the 80ft high roof garden.
Step inside on the ground floor where you’ll find a spacious kitchen and dining area, designed with large groups in mind. You’ll be able to rustle up a feast with the help of three ovens and three fridges before gathering around the dining table that comfortably seats 18. After dinner, head upstairs to the living area where you can put your feet up and relax on the big comfy sofas or play a game of pool. Or, you can hop into the lift and make your way up to the fifth floor to the games room where you’ll find several consoles with separate screens. This is also where you’ll find the cinema, complete with tiered seating and a powerful sound system.
At the very top of the tower, you’ll find the roof deck, the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a cold drink in the sunshine. There’s plenty of seating or you can step up onto the viewing platform and take in the spectacular panoramic views. You’ll be able to see across the beautiful countryside to the River Orwell in one direction, the River Stour in the other and even out to the docks at Felixstowe.
When it’s time for bed, there are nine rooms to choose from, ranging from spacious double rooms with ensuite shower rooms to cosy twins, perfect for the kids. There are also several rooms which can be set up as twins or with super-king size beds, offering plenty of flexibility for groups.
Locate in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, you’ll find plenty of exploring to do amidst some beautiful surroundings. Head out on scenic walks or bike rides along the banks of one of the rivers, stopping off at charming Suffolk villages and friendly pubs along the way. For a bit of wildlife spotting, fishing or even watersports, take a trip to Alton Water Reservoir. If you fancy a bit of culture, Colchester Castle, Ickworth House and the Medieval village of Lavenham are all within a 40-minute drive. For a change of scene, the vibrant town of Ipswich is nearby, with boat trips from the marina and a rich maritime history to explore.
