This charming farmhouse is set on the estate of Winton Castle in the beautiful Scottish countryside. Surrounded by rolling fields and woodland and just half an hour from Edinburgh’s vibrant city centre, it’s perfectly located for exploring East Lothian. Enjoy long walks in the countryside, an afternoon at the beach, a round at one of the dozens of golf courses in the area or a day out in Edinburgh. All before heading back to your cosy hideaway for a dip in the wood-fired hot tub and a dram of the local whisky in front of the log burner.
Inside, Broomrigg Farmhouse feels warm and welcoming with plenty of room for entertaining in the living space. You’ll find a newly fitted kitchen with a big range cooker and a dishwasher just through from a large dining room with room for 10 guests and beautiful views over the surrounding countryside. After dinner, get a fire going in the sitting room and gather everyone together for a board game or put your feet up in front of a film. There’s an additional sitting room with armchairs and a sofa in case you fancy a moment of peace and quiet with a good book.
Head upstairs to find the four bedrooms, all beautifully furnished and you can choose to have each room set up as a twin or with king size doubles. There are three luxurious bathrooms where you’ll find complimentary toiletries waiting for you as well as fluffy towels and robes. One of the bathrooms has a lovely roll-top bath, perfect for a quiet, relaxing soak after a long walk in the countryside.
On warmer days, head outside to the patio and enjoy your meals outdoors in the sunshine with views over the meadows. Get the wood-fired hot tub going and you’ll be able to sit out late into the evening, watching the sunset and perhaps doing a bit of stargazing.
There’s plenty to do in the area whether you prefer a brisk walk in the countryside, a day out at the beach or a bit of sightseeing. With more than 20 courses nearby, including Muirfield, Broomrigg Farmhouse is a great choice for those looking for a golfing holiday. There’s also 40 miles of rugged coastline and golden beaches to discover with opportunities for fishing and sailing. Head to one of the local distilleries, such as Glenkinchie Distillery, for a tour and a tasting of the local whisky. Edinburgh is also just a short drive away with lots of historical sights to visit, fantastic restaurants and plenty of shopping opportunities.
