This quirky and cute canal barge, moored on the famous Union Canal, makes for a unique way to experience glorious Edinburgh. Luxuriously and stylishly kitted-out, guests will fall in love with this lovely boatel, the moment they glimpse its green exterior and oak lined modern interior.
Wake to the sound of the waves gently lapping the hull and the gulls calling overhead in one of two double cabins. Beds are comfy and stylish, with crisp linens and cosy duvets. The rooms share a lovely green and mustard colour theme which is used throughout the boat.
There is a good sized shower room, fully panelled from ceiling to floor in beautiful oak. Guests are offered a range of eco-friendly bathroom goodies to choose from and plenty of clean, fluffy towels.
Head to the kitchen to make the first coffee of the day and take it outside to enjoy with a pastry on one of the boat's two decks. Relax at the patio tables, fire up the maps and plot where to start exploring this vibrant, exciting city. The boat is just 10 minutes from the centre of Edinburgh, so it's easy to return to when feet start to tire.
Back inside, and there is a great lounging area when guests can recharge their batteries, have a little nap or a cup of tea and snack. The kitchen is small but well-equipped with an oven, microwave and hob. Cook up simple suppers and enjoy either outside on the decks or in front of the telly, settled on the comfy sofa. There is a large coffee table to rest plates, glasses and bottles, and lots of lamps for providing atmospheric lighting at night.
This perfectly situated barge means guests can enjoy every moment in the city without having to spend time travelling, A day's itinerary might include a trip to the iconic castle, an afternoon at the Scottish National Gallery or time spent perusing the shops along the Royal Mile and enjoying afternoon tea in one of the many cafes. In the evening, enjoy dinner in one of the many fabulous restaurants. Or perhaps, catch a show at the Playhouse or take a stroll along the canal side.
