The luxury glampsite of Dam View is beautifully set within 100 acres of farmland on the Gartmorn Dam nature reserve. These quintessentially indulgent lodges really put the opulence into glamping and will provide an unforgettable break in tranquil, comfortable surroundings.
With three stylish bedrooms, a well-equipped kitchen, a roll-top bath and a cosy wood-burning stove each one has everything you could wish for from a luxury retreat. The décor is rustic country chic, with natural touches combining with tactile fabrics to create a sumptuous yet relaxing ambience.
Snuggle down at night in your crisp white sheets under a thick duvet with a hot water bottle at your feet and then enjoy breakfast outside in the fresh air while you wake up with the wildlife. Spend the day reconnecting with nature while you sit back and relax with a book and a glass of wine in front of a hot crackling stove.
Take in the breathtaking views from the front of your lodge while enjoying the sounds of local wildlife and the smell of the wood smoke from your fire pit while cooking outside on an open fire. The only decision you need to make is which lodge to choose.
Tabitha is set up on its own decking, complete with a wood-fired hot tub, and captures the best view of the Dam and surrounding countryside. The deck is accessed by a ramp and surrounded by a glass balustrade ensuring the best views from wherever you choose to sit. Lie back in the hammock and chill out with a good book.
Ivy also offers hammocks and offers a beautiful view of the dam from the comfort of the wood-fired hot tub. The lodge is accessed at the front from wooden steps. Perfect for parents with young children who want to keep an eye on them while they explore their surroundings.
Rosalie is prettily situated in a little garden brimming with mint and flowers. This lodge also offers a wood-fired hot tub plus a cold water shower surrounded by a fence for your privacy. Beautiful twinkling fairy lights will add a touch of magic to those evenings spent relaxing in the hot tub.
If you love the great outdoors you will find lots of things to enjoy close by. The lodges look out over a nature reserve, with footpaths connecting the lodge field to miles of walking, running or cycling tracks. Most of the paths are also ideal for prams so the whole family can get involved.
If you enjoy bird watching, there are several great locations positioned around the Dam to help you spot a bird or two and if you get chilly there’s even a new coffee shop nearby, so fresh coffee and cakes are only minutes away. If you want to explore a little further, both Glasgow and Edinburgh are only an hour away by car.
