Family holidays in a tent don't come much more relaxing than a stay in this lovely safari tent which sits in a peaceful spot on a stunning Scottish estate. Forget tent poles and guy ropes, sleeping bags and camping stoves, this canvas home is fully equipped with all the conveniences required for a stress-free stay in the countryside.
There are two 'proper' wooden double beds, one with a single bunk, in two private bedrooms with a canvas wall dividing the two. All the beds have great quality mattresses, luxurious linens and cosy throws and duvets.
Long days exploring the estate and the fresh Scottish air ensure a good night's sleep, and what could be better than waking to birdsong and sunshine? Enjoy a relaxed breakfast either in the tent or outside at the picnic tables. Eggs and bacon never taste better than in the outdoors!
Should the weather turn inclement head inside, put the kettle on and crack out the card games. Leave the doors open, the dining table is perfectly positioned for watching the weather move over the distant hills.
The tent has a wonderful raised wooden deck where easy chairs invite guests to sit back, take in the view of Ben Lomond and Stirlingshire and relax. In the evening, grill dinner on the BBQ before lighting the firepit and roasting marshmallows while swapping stories and spotting constellations.
A luxurious family bathroom is positioned directly next to the tent and is full of little luxuries including Aesop toiletries, bath robes and large fluffy bath towels.
The tranquil surroundings make lazing all day entirely forgivable but, for those looking for some action, there is plenty to do on the estate and beyond. Grab a fishing rod and head to the pond and try to catch supper, enjoy some clay pigeon shooting, wander woodland trails and spot badgers and red squirrels.
Beyond the estate, the tent is situated just 20 minutes from Loch Lomond where there are plenty of hiking and biking trails as well as water-based activities including waterskiing. When the appetite needs satisfying, head to one of the many friendly pubs in the area - The Cross Keys and The Fintry Inn, both at Kippen, and The Old Mill at Killearn all come well-recommended.

Leave a reviewIn one word - Amazing. Myself and my 12 yr old son staying. An awesome place to stay: luxury, quirky, beautiful. A brilliant relaxing escape for me, a whole lot of fun for my son and an alround fantastic time. The thing that made it absolutely tip top were the family that owned the estate, a lovely, friendly, warm vibrant family who couldn't have made our stay better. We can't wait to come back and we can't recommend it enough!!!!
