Right by the sea on the Fife Coastal Path, the glamorous Catchpenny Safari Lodges bring charm and luxury to Scotland’s east coast. With each of the lodges offering accommodation for up to six guests, this is a great place for a family break or a romantic get-away – and your dog is welcome too.
The extensive views and beautifully furnished interiors make a break at Catchpenny visually stunning. There is a large living space complete with wonderfully comfortable sofas and a dining area with handmade wooden benches and table. You could almost forget you were in a canvas tent with the luxurious amenities inside – including a warming wood-burning stove.
This is far more than just camping, with a well-equipped kitchen meaning you can cook on the stove or the gas hob for convenience. There's also some essentials like tea and coffee waiting for you on arrival. The countertops, you’ll see, have all been hand-crafted from fallen trees from the local estate.
A private bathroom at the back of the lodge gives you a great shower, washbasin, WC and heated towel rail. All your towels and toiletries are provided for convenience, as are bed linens in the bedrooms. There is a king-size bed in one area, twin beds in another, and another king-size cabin bed tucked in behind shutters between the twin room and the living area.
Outside, you have a front deck area with seating, as well as a fire pit. There are even binoculars provided so you can do some bird or dolphin-spotting.
Catchpenny Safari Lodges are located between the villages of Elie and St Monans on the East Neuk of Fife. The award winning Ardorss Farm Shop is just 500m away, and there is a selection of great pubs and restaurants within easy reach. Around one mile away, Elie has a picture-perfect harbour lined with yachts and small boats, and it’s a great place for golfers with the Elie and Kingsbarns golf clubs nearby.
You can take pleasure cruises, see some contemporary art or visit a historic building or two in the local area, whether it’s St Monans Windmill, Elie Ness Lighthouse or Kellie Castle and Gardens, a picturesque 14th-century castle nearby.

Leave a reviewWe had 2 tents for a long weekend. The tents are amazing and the extra touches like nice toiletries etc make it seem way more glamorous than camping. It's in a lovely spot for looking out to sea and going for lovely walks. Would stay again and would definitely recommend. The kids loved it.
