Located on Cornwall’s south-east coast in the pretty village of Cawsand and just seconds from the sea, Blue Monkey is a great choice for family getaways or holidays with friends. The Grade II listed house sleeps up to 10 in five bedrooms and has its own secluded walled garden. The house is just a stone’s throw from several sandy beaches and is surrounded by stunning countryside, making it a perfect seaside escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. There are also two kayaks and two paddleboards which you are free to use during your stay.
The open-plan living space is perfect for socialising and entertaining. Comfy sofas and armchairs are gathered around a wood-burning stove in the living area, the perfect place to challenge the family to a board game or to curl up with a book. The large kitchen is fully-equipped and there’s a big dining table where everyone can gather for a hearty breakfast. There’s also a cosy dining area with a beautiful oak table and chairs and exposed brick walls where everyone can swap stories of the day’s adventures over a delicious evening meal.
The five beautiful bedrooms are made up with fresh, crisp white Egyptian bed linen and are decorated in light, relaxing tones. The two large master bedrooms rooms on the first floor have super kingsize beds and ensuite bathrooms with gorgeous free-standing bathtubs, perfect for relaxing after a day exploring the coast. On the top floor are a kingsize double room, twin room with two singles and the bunk room, always a big hit with the kids. There is another bathroom on the top floor which the remaining bedrooms share, plus there is an additional bathroom off the utility room on the ground floor.
Outside, the pretty walled garden is a lovely spot to spend long summer days with a barbecue and outdoor lighting keeping you going late into the evening. You can stroll down to one of three sandy beaches where you can go crabbing in the rock pools or explore on the kayaks and paddleboards. The Rame Peninsula and Whitsand Bay’s 7km of sandy beach are nearby and a great spot to learn to surf and even spot some dolphins. This is an area of outstanding natural beauty and as the house is located on the South West Coast Path, it’s well worth packing your walking boots.

Have you stayed here?
Leave a reviewWe had a fabulous stay at Blue Monkey Cornwall, it truly deserves all 5* And having the 2 free paddleboards and 2 kayaks to use on the water a stone’s throw away was heaven!! The children played in the rock pools and waves in the sheltered bay, whilst the adults entertained themselves on one of 3 beaches on your doorstep. Staying here really was home from home. There were welcome bubbles and scones +++ extras for us and extra dog friendly toys and treats was a welcome arrival surprise. The bedrooms and huge master bathrooms are spacious, and the sun trap garden was ideal for early evening BBQs and sundowners. They really have thought of everything from local guides, daily activity planner, free concierge service sharing the secret walks to Penlee and coves the masses dont use. Annabel is on hand to ensure you have a great stay and is on hand to help organise pre-cooked meals, chefs & masseuses in advance of your stay. The villages of Kingsand & Cawsand are enchanting and super child and dog friendly. Highlights were the walks to Penlee Point & Rame Head. The days spent on Whitsand Bay and the dramatic scenery, will stay with us forever. Plus, the new interior refurb really sets this place apart as a phenomenal place to stay.
