On a hill overlooking the stunning North Devon coastline is the Architectural Gem Woolacombe. The house reflects the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty of Woolacombe Bay in which it is located.
Sleeping 10 guests, those staying will know their getaway is going to be unique as soon as they approach the dwelling, with its front door concealed by a wall of beautiful burnt Japanese wood called Shou Sugi Ban. The award-winning interior design has been carefully crafted to intertwine with the house’s surroundings and highlight the magnificent sea and hilltop views that it boasts.
At the heart of the property is the modern and stylish kitchen, which is fully equipped. Here, the sleek black surfaces perfectly complement the light-filled space. Accompanying it is a well stocked bar, before steps lead down to the expansive living area. A wall of glass showcases the view of the hills and beach beyond, as guests indulge in comfort and luxury. A huge glass-topped dining table seating 10 people is at one end of the room, while the sitting area is at the other - separated in the middle by a bespoke, suspended fireplace.
All four of the bedrooms are en-suite, accompanied by stunning bathrooms. Three of them have super-king size beds, while the fourth has two sets of bunk beds - making them the ideal option for children. Each of the bedrooms also has full height windows overlooking the valley opposite, meaning that wherever guests are in the property, they can take in the breathtaking views.
The landscape can also be enjoyed from the house’s outdoor space, complete with dining table and seating. Sit back and relax with a glass of fizz in the cedar-clad hot tub and truly appreciate both the surrounding natural and architectural beauty.
The golden sands of the beach is only a 15 to 20-minute walk from the getaway, aided on the way there by the downhill journey. Woolacombe itself has a nice selection of independent shops, cafes, and restaurants. There are also 2 good pubs in nearby Georgeham - The Kings Arms and The Rock Inn - with the latter serving great food.
