This apartment offers you a rare opportunity to stay in a fabulous home at the very heart of the Southbank in London with stunning views of the city skyline from your very own roof top terrace. This property would be just the thing for friends, families and business professionals wanting to experience life at the centre of the city with everything you could need in walking distance.
This apartment is stylish, fairly minimalistic and very cool. Think whitewashed walls, wooden floors and plenty of glass. Generously spread out over two floors, the apartment has a large open plan living area with enough sleek grey sofas to comfortably sit nine people or have four lounging about. The low coffee table and accents of orange in the cushions make the vibe cool and modern. Some simple candles and ornaments have been artfully placed and nothing about this place feels cluttered, just calm, spacious and serene.
At the end of the long room you'll find the kitchen which is high-spec with white shiny surfaces and a breakfast bar with silver metal high chairs. A rather fabulous long dining table rests in the large space between the living area and breakfast bar and would comfortably seat eight for a long lazy supper beneath its elegant lampshades. You'll find some interesting art prints dotted around too.
Up the very cool perspex stairs there are two large ensuite bedrooms, as understated and elegant as the rest of the home. You'll sleep in a very comfortable bed before rising from the ashes under the rainfall shower or soaking away any stress in the tub.
A charming spiral staircase leads to a studio with a kitchenette and an additional sofa which opens into a bed should you wish to make it a party of six rather than four. This level also leads out to the piece de resistance, the roof terrace, which provides enviable views of the Southbank. There's a five seat table too so this would make a perfect spot for a morning coffee far from the madding crowd beneath.
Southbank is a wonderful part of London to stroll along with the Thames on one side of you and a host of eateries on the other. Sit outside the BFI and enjoy a cold beer before heading in to watch a film. Get tickets to the latest offering at the Royal Festival Hall. The National Theatre is a 15 minute walk away and if you fancy a bird's eye view, stroll down to the London Eye and get in a pod. Further along Southbank you'll find Gabriel's Wharf which is home to some of the older long standing restaurants and is also a wonderful hub of art and creativity. Second hand bookstalls right by the river are a joy to rifle through and you'll find plenty of little trucks or stands selling everything from coffee to dim sum. Head up to the roof bar at the Southbank Centre and sit in a little garden, or watch the cool kids on their skateboards beneath. It's a place of discovery, colour and innovation.
If you're a foodie you'll be happy to know that Borough Market, one of London's oldest and greatest markets, is only about 12 minutes away on foot. You can eat your way around one stall at a time, buy a Bloody Mary from a cart, enjoy oysters and champagne, buy all the best ingredients to bring back to the apartment or settle down at one of several excellent restaurants - if you like tapas do try Brindisi! If you feel like a film night the BFI IMAX is on your doorstep. There's so much more to Waterloo than the train station and it's impossible to be bored.
