Set within a Victorian villa, this Clan Fraser inspired apartment is anything but twee. Instead, the place is fresh and contemporary, with subtle nods of tartan among the swanky finishes.
The living space is the heart of the home, with rich blues and brushed gold adding an opulent flourish. There’s a dining table for home-cooked haggis, neeps and tatties and a gorgeous velvet sofa for reclining with a snifter of Scotch.
Just when you thought it couldn’t be plusher, 800 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets dress impossibly comfortable beds. And that’s without mentioning the freestanding copper tub in the first bedroom.
Outside, a tidy patio lets you make the most of sunny days – especially when accompanied with treats from the nearby bakery.
After a five-minute stroll to the picturesque River Ness, cross the bridge into the heart of Inverness for the red sandstone castle, Victorian Market and an impressive selection of bars and restaurants.
The UK’s northernmost city, Inverness, is the capital of the Scottish Highlands, and is not too far from your door. Perhaps the most famous of Scotland’s natural features is nearby is Loch Ness – Scotland’s deepest loch, hiding many a legendary secret under its glassy surface.
Enjoy a boat ride and take in those mountain views. In the city centre, you’ll find family-run restaurants that have been serving haggis, neeps and tatties for decades and cosy pubs where live folk music fills the night.
The River Ness flows through the heart of Inverness, and its park-lined banks are a picture of weeping willows and manicured lawns. It may be small, but this city is something of a cultural hub with the sleek, modern museum and art gallery dominating the centre, and sprawling botanic gardens. The 2010s gin boom has seen distilleries crop up all over the surrounding countryside, and the whisky-famous region of Speyside is just 40 miles away.
