This traditional country pub sits amongst the lush green fields of Kent and is surrounded by the well-known Kent Oast houses. Ideally located for exploring the historic city of Canterbury and picturesque Rye, this is a great spot to discover and explore this fascinating and beautiful area.
The Woolpack Inn offers quirky, boutique rooms which have been refurbished to a high standard with comfort, style and convenience at the forefront. Guests can enjoy a cosy dinner in the lovely bar and restaurant and soak in the atmosphere. Dried hops surround a large inglenook fireplace, or head to the outdoor area where tables are decorated with geranium gilled planters and edged with bay trees. The bar is well-stocked with a great choice of craft beer, wine and gins, plenty to keep visitors in for the evening but, when bedtime finally beckons, guests can journey upstairs and settle into one of the five suites.
Honeychild, Josephine, Frederick, Niddy and Noddy have all been designed and fitted to a high standard, with individual touches giving each of the rooms its own character. All have ensuite toilets and luxurious freestanding bathtubs in the bedrooms where guests can relax and unwind. Well-thought out decor with quirky touches, soft fabrics and traditional touches create beautiful boutique rooms all within this traditional pub setting.
The attic rooms, there are two, are situated at the top of the building and offer views across the village towards the church. The deluxe suite has a bench covered in lush fabrics and cushions and positioned in a beautiful bay window creating a bright and colourful environment. For cosy nights in, snuggle beside the open fireplace which is unique to this particular room.
The most handsome room is the one-bedroom suite, dark teal walls are home to gold ornately-framed mirrors and a large, carved wooden double bed sits on floorboards opposite a deep, leather armchair. And the superior suite is a lovely light and rustic room. A soft pastel colour scheme gives it a real country cottage vibe.
The Woolpack produces lovely lunches and dinners but there are plenty of other eating options further afield. Nearby Canterbury and Rye both have great delis for stocking up on local produce for picnics. Port Lympne Wild Animal Park is a short drive away - visitors can get up close and personal with the many species which live at this large park.
