Right on the celebrated Whitstable coast, a stretch of shoreline renowned for its tranquil, shingly beaches, The Oyster Shell is a staggering family home. This property is abounding in outdoor space and the amenities which make for a comfortable seaside break.
With a spacious layout, ground floor bedrooms, parking for three cars, and a design emphasising privacy, The Oyster Shell is the dream escape for any number of demographics and parties. It's ideal for all from multi-generational getaways to university couples’ escapes.
Set back from a quiet street, The Oyster Shell sits in a spacious private plot and the back garden is great for kids looking to stretch their legs after a drive. With a sizeable outdoor dining table and gas barbecue, dining al fresco has never been so easy or enjoyable. Alternatively, enjoy cocktails on the decking before heading inside to cook up a feast using the cutting edge kitchen facilities.
Inside, light simply pours in through the glass-heavy structure, creating an airy, cheerful atmosphere throughout the day. High ceilings and muted blues, greys and whites instil a sense of calm in the open plan living space, where guests tend to find themselves congregating at the start and close of the day.
Two full bedrooms are found on the ground floor, both with en-suite shower/lavatory rooms (one also has a bath) and both with access directly out onto the garden. One is made up with a Euro King sized bed while the other is equipped with twin singles. In addition, a ground floor study comes complete with a fold-down bed, to create an additional bedroom.
Upstairs on the first floor, a master bedroom has the benefit of a full en-suite bathroom, as well as views over the back garden. It is worth noting that the downstairs bedrooms can be accessed without having to climb stairs, making this a popular choice with guests who have limited mobility.
The sheer scale of The Oyster Shell, both internally and externally, means that even on rainy days confined to quarters, guests have the space to work, read, chat or play board games without being cramped or on top of one another.
Being situated on a no through road, The Oyster Shell benefits from minimal traffic noise, and generally safe streets. Whitstable Town centre with its charming architecture, excellent independent pubs, and many craft and artisan food shops is a just a short walk away.
The property is a stone’s throw from the Saxon Shore Coastal Path. Alternatively, the disused Canterbury railway line is a great cycling path. Naturally, there are many shingly beaches right by the house, as well as the brilliant local pub, The Old Neptune. The nearest grocery shop is just five minutes away on foot.
