Perched on the edge of Faversham in the rolling hills of the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Painters Farm is a recently renovated, 500-year-old Tudor manor house that’s perfect for families and large groups. Nestled among 17 acres of Kent grassland, with one acre of private gardens, it’s the ideal place to relax, recharge and reconnect with friends and family. Step back in time and become part of this fabulous farmhouse’s long history.
Painters Farm stands out against the green Kent countryside, with weathered wooden frames, whitewashed walls and grand brick chimneys. As you enter through the ancient front door, you’re greeted by rustic charm that’s mixed with modern luxuries. The huge fireplaces, low ceilings, exposed beams and dark wooden floors create a cosy and relaxing space all year round, while the contemporary kitchen appliances, modern bathroom fittings and 21st century tech keep you connected to daily life.
The modern kitchen is fully equipped to cater for large groups and busy families. The huge range cooker can create everything from hearty breakfasts to indulgent evening meals, and the large dining table has space for the whole gang. In the summer months, why not dine alfresco in your private garden surrounded by lush grassland and orchards with apple and cherry trees? Visiting in autumn or winter? A pair of grand, open fireplaces fill the space with heat and a calming glow while you curl up on the plush sofas and watch a movie on the smart TV. For something quieter, choose a good book from the library and head to one of the many cosy nooks and crannies for some ‘you’ time.
As the night draws in, there’s space for 12 guests across six bedrooms, with a mix of three king size, one double and four single beds, all adorned with luxury bedding to drift off under. The master suite features an ensuite bathroom, sofas and low ceilings for a cosy feel, while a second king bedroom features a freestanding, roll-top bath to sink into after a long day. The remaining bedrooms share a mix of family bathrooms and shower rooms. For the little ones, a travel cot is also available.
Nestled on the edge of Faversham and in the Kent Downs AONB, Painters Farm is easily accessible from the M25, London, the Midlands and the South East. What’s more, Faversham train station is just two miles away, for those without a car. The Alma Pub is a mere 200 metres away for a cold drink or a hearty meal. Further afield, the charming town of Faversham and historic Canterbury are both easily accessible for a day spent exploring local shops, cafes and restaurants. In the summer, why not spend a day on the beautiful North Sea beaches with an ice cream, or don your walking boots to explore the rolling Kent Downs?
