This charming farmhouse set in the peaceful village of Upper Wootton in Herefordshire rolling countryside, is the perfect spot for a relaxing getaway with the family. Bright and airy living spaces, stunning views of the surrounding fields and a wood-burning stove make this a cosy and inviting retreat at any time of the year. After a day strolling through the pretty village or a long walk through the surrounding countryside, enjoy a glass of something out on the patio as you soak up the view or put your feet up with a good book in front of the fire.
The large open-plan kitchen, living and dining space is the heart of the farmhouse with plenty of space for everyone to cook, eat and relax together. The kitchen with its Rangemaster cooker, gorgeous Belfast sink and stylish quartz island makes whipping up the family favourites a breeze and there's plenty of room for everyone to get stuck in with the cooking. You can choose to eat your meals at the traditional dining table or step out onto the patio to dine outdoors overlooking the countryside. As evening draws in, the wobbly Tudor beams overhead and a fire crackling away in the wood-burning stove create a cosy atmosphere, perfect for curling up in front of a film or enjoying a board game with the family.
There are four bedrooms, all beautifully furnished and with comfortable beds promising a restful night's sleep. The main bedroom features a luxurious king size bed, an ensuite shower and fantastic views through double aspect windows. There's a second double room downstairs, ideal if anyone in your group prefers not to climb stairs, and is adjacent to a bathroom. There's a bunk room with a double bed and a single which makes a great hideaway for the kids or can comfortably accommodate a couple. The final room is tucked away in the corner of the house, decorated for children and has a single bed.
If you can tear yourselves away from your peaceful retreat, there's plenty of exploring to do in the area. Dedicated dog walkers, gentle ramblers or a keen hikers will love the Herefordshire countryside, with its abundant walking options. Hergest Ridge is well worth the visit and offers up some breathtaking views across the English/Welsh border. Or take a trip to the Water-Break-It's-Neck Waterfall in the gorgeous Radnor Forest, with a walk that takes you through a magical glen. The nearby market town of Kington is only 10 minutes away in the car and has all you could need for stocking up on provisions during your stay.
