Charming family friendly four-bed holiday home with views out to the rolling Herefordshire countryside, a hot tub in the garden and plenty of peace and quiet.
Set amidst the rolling hills of Herefordshire with views out to the countryside, Old Barn House is a charming four-bedroom home sleeping up to 8 guests plus infants in cots, perfect for families or getaways with friends. Spend your days exploring the Malvern Hills, the Forest of Dean or some of the characterful towns and villages nearby, such as Hay on Wye. Or simply put your feet up in the large garden for a snooze in the hammock or a dip in the hot tub. In the evenings, get cosy in the living room with a good film on the TV or get stuck into a board game with the family. This is a peaceful countryside escape, well away from the hustle and bustle.
Step inside and you’ll find that the house has been furnished in a contemporary style that is immediately warm and welcoming. The large hallway has plenty of room for storing coats and boots and provides a cosy space for a dog’s bed if you’re bringing any four-legged friends with you. There’s a large open-plan kitchen with all the appliances you’ll need to whip up all the family favourites and a spacious dining room with plenty of room for everyone around the oak table.
Sit back and relax in the living room with its smart TV including Netflix, and log-effect fire or enjoy a cocktail before dinner in the sophisticated lounge area which has double doors out onto the garden. There is also a downstairs bedroom, ‘Sycamore’, which can be made up as a twin or a super king size bedroom, depending on your preference. You’ll also find a shower room and a utility room downstairs.
Move upstairs to find the rest of the bedrooms, all named after one of the trees you might find in the local area. ‘Rowan’ has a king size bed and ‘Holly’ is another twin that can be made up as a super king size bed if you prefer. The final bedroom, ‘Maple’, has a super king size bed, a smart TV and an ensuite bathroom. All of the beds are luxuriously made up with Hypnos mattresses, Egyptian cotton linen and hypoallergenic bedding.
The garden is a calm and relaxing space with everything you could need to enjoy slow, sunny afternoons in the sunshine. Soak up the countryside views from the hydrotherapy hot tub or get dinner going on the BBQ. Lie back on the double hammock with a book or challenge the family to one of the games on offer, including cricket, badminton and rounders.
There’s plenty to do in the area, from exploring the great outdoors to discovering the rich local history. You’ll also have access to a five-acre coarse fishing lake within walking distance which is well stocked with bream, carp and perch. Day fishing is complimentary to guests, just remember your equipment and licence. If you’re looking to pick up the pace a bit, try mountain biking, kayaking or even some of the zip wires in the Forest of Dean. Visit Hampton Court Castle and Gardens, Hereford Cathedral or Eastnor Castle for a bit of culture or head to the famous Hay on Wye to explore the many bookshops.
