The Shepherd's Hut at Thorney Mire is a luxury shepherd's hut that sleeps two. Situated in the heart of the stunning Yorkshire Dales, the property is an ideal place for nature lovers to leave daily life behind and recharge their batteries. With windows offering views of the onsite squirrel and bird feeders as well as the surrounding woodlands, unwinding at the shepherd's hut feels like second nature.

Nestled in a private plot of semi-ancient woodland, the property is frequently visited by roe deer and the rare red squirrel; an especially exciting sight for animal enthusiasts. And, the shepherd's hut is home to an eco-friendly bathroom and eco-toilet, so environmentally-aware guests can feel comfortable with their choice of destination.

What's more, the property is a great place to truly embrace both the stunning summers and bracing winters that North Yorkshire experiences. Its outdoor seating area and BBQ make for a great way to enjoy dining alfresco during the warmer weather, while guests can just as easily curl up inside the shepherd's hut during the winter next to its warming and inviting woodburning stove.

The property boasts a cosy double bed and plenty of rustic finishings for an authentic, woodsy feel. It's also home to a kitchenette, with a kettle, toaster, cutlery, microwave and fridge. With plenty of storage space in the open wardrobe and USB and power sockets for guests to keep their devices charged (if they aren't planning on going completely off-grid for the duration of their trip!).

As if that's not enough, the shepherd's hut is located in the middle of the stunning Yorkshire Dales, one of the UK's most expansive tracts of wilderness. Whether you're passionate about history, culture, nature or food, the Dales are sure to have something for you. Guests may like to explore some of the many walking and cycling tracks that the area features or visit the sleepy, tranquil villages that call the Yorkshire Dales home. You're also a 10 minute drive from the Yorkshire Three Peaks, and there are numerous wild swimming opportunities in the area too.

Guests looking to venture further afield will have a number of the North's greatest attractions at their doorstep, too. From the bustling city of Leeds to the wilds of the North York Moors and the Lake District, the shepherd's hut makes a fantastic hub for exploring this beautiful corner of the UK.
