As you approach The Ewe, it stands as a haven of comfort and seclusion against the backdrop of the rugged peaks and mature woodland surrounding it. Newly created for 2024, it combines contemporary tech, modern luxury and rustic styling. Enter The Ewe and the neutral decor encourages you to slow down and relax. Natural wooden hues combine with calming pastel tones that bring the outdoors in.
Your kitchenette is fully equipped for your news, whether you’re making your morning cuppa to enjoy outside, sandwiches to take on your hikes, or a hearty evening meal. In the warmer weather, dine alfresco on the garden furniture or fire up the BBQ and fire pit to cook up some local farm produce. Spend the evening grilling marshmallows and watching the sun set before the glorious starry skies appear. The Smart TV is perfect for a movie night on those chilly evenings.
When it’s time to sleep, the king size bed is adorned with thick bedding to drift off under as the wind rustles the leaves. Nestled on the edge of the Lake District National Park, the Ewe is your perfect place to explore Cumbria's stunning landscapes, rugged coastlines and quaint villages. The nearby towns of Cockermouth and Wigton have everything you need for your stay and boast a range of independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. Nature lovers will be in their element, with a range of hikes directly from the hut and throughout the park. Red squirrels, ospreys, deer and even eagles can all be seen, while Bassenthwaite Lake is perfect for fishing, watersports and birdwatching. For incredible views, hike to the top of Skiddaw.
