Nestled on the sprawling green fields of a beautiful patch of farmland a few miles from Kendal, The Paddock Pods are three beautifully designed small and unique homes. All of these pods are capable of accommodating a couple comfortably, with additional space on a pull-out sofa bed if needed. Designed with luxury, comfort and elegance in mind, and built to the owners' specifications, the Paddock Pods combine tiny-house style living with some of the loveliest landscapes in the region, making for a truly special getaway which will stay with you long after your trip is over.
The architecture of each pod cleverly maximises the view of hills, pasture and grazing farmland, while the natural light pours in through the large windows. Vaulted roofs, neutral tones and sharp, clean lines combine to create a sense of contemporary and urbane style, while elegant design principles have been employed throughout.
Despite the compact footprint of the pods, each has a full fitted kitchen with a double electric hob, fridge/freezer and microwave. This means that you're guaranteed to eat well, whether you're tucking into a slap up breakfast before a long hike, preparing a picnic to take with you into the hills, or whipping up a romantic supper for two using local ingredients from one of the region's many delis.
Sharing the communal living space with the kitchen, you'll also find a low, comfortable sofa, table, and the bed tucked back in an alcove behind the door. This room benefits from great natural light, and the fitted bathroom is in a separate room. A winning feature of the pods is the spacious decking which has direct access from the main living space, and comes with its own outdoor dining furniture. On clear bright mornings and starry evenings there really is nothing like enjoying a cup of coffee or glass of wine out there as you chat with your partner or enjoy a book. The pods even come with an additional patio where there is lounge chairs and a firepit complete with a BBQ swing arm.
Located on a farm in Selside, the Paddock Pods are perfectly located for ramblers, birdwatchers, nature enthusiasts and wild swimmers. Either on foot or by bicycle you can reach excellent vantage points, and being on the edge of the Lake District National Park, you have easy access to the pubs, restaurants and independent shops of charming towns like Kendal and Windermere.
Whether you're a foodie or architecture enthusiast, fisher or someone who loves perusing second hand bookshops, the quaint and friendly small towns which make up this corner of the world are abundant in charm and character, and there's excellent food to be had in the cheery and atmospheric pubs, many of which are within easy hiking distance.

We’ve just got back from a lovely weekend away staying in the ‘twig’ pod which was pet friendly. We had a great time and couldn’t recommend the pods enough - they’re super cosy, very cute but had everything you needed to cook & clean up, as well as storage and stuff for the dog (bowls, old towel etc) Lorna as a host was really accommodating with a date change and provided all the info we needed for check in and the surrounding area. The location was a perfect base for exploring and we visited Kendal, lake Windermere/Bowness-on-Windermere & Ambleside. I’d definitely recommend and would book again if I was looking to return to the area! Thanks again.

Relaxing weekend in a very quiet and modern pod. I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the pod after being soaked in the rain. The cabin set up is very modern and warmed us up really quickly. When the weather wasn't great we stayed in for the evening and there's enough in the pod to cook your own food and relax with a drink. Just be warned that some of the roads are quite narrow and can get busy if you arrive around school time like we did
