Indulge your inner-camper at this uber-cosy glamp-site, set on the sublime river banks of the magical Eden Valley. Nestled on a working, family-run farm amongst Cumbria’s majestic natural scenery, Croglin Yurt is a peaceful retreat with a serious touch of luxury. Snuggle beside the fire and stargaze from the hot tub, curling up on your sumptuous double bed and listening to the sounds of Mother Nature. Explore the soaring North Pennine peaks or the shimmering Lake District or the rugged Yorkshire Dales with their brooding spirit.
Drybeck Farm has a handful of tranquil glamping havens that each have a quiet spot in a flourishing open pasture. The Croglin hideout is part of this exclusive collection and is a snug Mongolian yurt with warm, homely interiors. Its latticed wood structure is set on a sturdy wooden base and is topped with a thick, khaki canvas that blends in with its rural setting. A private, outdoor cookhouse is just next door, while eco-friendly bathrooms are just a 20 metre walk.
Behind its rustic timber door lies a plush country sanctuary, finished with rich fabrics, sweet prints and just-picked flowers. A captivating skylight lets the sunlight flood in, while dim lighting and candle lanterns are on hand for when the evenings draw in. Handpicked vintage pieces are scattered around the room and are joined by soft woollen blankets and a roaring wood burner. If you want to bring the kids then there’s even a double sofa bed where they can enjoy a comfy night’s sleep before the adventures ahead.
Wake up fully rested and cook a traditional English breakfast, using the local farmhouse produce in your delicious foodie hamper. The outdoor kitchen has everything you could need and more, including plenty of modern appliances and fresh, running water. Dine around the table and spy the fascinating wildlife, waiting for the striking herons and the colourful kingfishers. Wash away the cobwebs in the contemporary bathroom cabins, complete with composting loos and hot water showers.
Recharge your batteries by relaxing on the farm, picnicking in the meadows and channelling Nature’s inner calm. Cycle through the lanes and take a dip in the River Eden waters, watching for the prancing deer and the sunbathing otters. Light the nearby wood-fired hot tub and drink in the serene river views or pack your hiking boots and head out amongst the lush, country blooms. With Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty in almost every direction, you can choose to spend your time amongst mountains, lakes and coastline.
