Another Place is set amongst the Lake District’s stunning mountain scenery, soft rolling hills and idyllic Ullswater shores. Six delightful shepherd huts are nestled away beside the lake, offering lucky guests the opportunity for a relaxing or adventurous getaway in this incredible location. There are three couple huts and three family huts with a bunk room for younger children, offering you a perfect for a romantic weekend away or family holiday.
The double braced huts have been expertly handcrafted from sustainably sourced French oak cladding, and their surprisingly spacious interiors are beautifully designed and decorated. The front doors open into cosy lounge areas, warmed by traditional log burners, a lovely spot to curl up with a good book or enjoy a late afternoon snooze. All huts have seriously comfortable king size beds underneath stargazing roofs, letting guests doze off to the backdrop of the starry sky.
In the couple huts, you’ll find the added luxury of a freestanding copper bathtub, placed in front of large double windows that look out across the serene surroundings, and the family huts have an extra bunk room for two children. Each hut has its own garden terrace, complete with outdoor seating and a fire pit, ideal for warming up by in the evenings and toasting marshmallows. Both the family and couple huts are nicely secluded and offer guests privacy.
Visitors staying in the huts will have access to the site’s Swim Club and Kids’ Zone. The Swim Club spa has a lake-view swimming pool, a sauna, cardio room and a Swedish outdoor hot tub. Whilst you’re busy unwinding, little ones can be kept occupied in the Kids’ Zone, which has inside and outside play areas, and runs supervised sessions and activities.
If you fancy trying something more adventurous, you’ve come to the right place. Guests can book a wide range of activities including stand-up paddleboarding, open-water swimming and kayaking on the lake. There is also a plethora of footpaths and cycle trails around Ullswater waiting to be explored, along with the many famous trails that wind around the rugged fells of the Lake District.
If you’ve spent an adrenaline-fuelled day on Ullswater, you’ll be sure to have worked up an appetite. Fortunately, Another Place has two fantastic restaurants (casual and fine dining options) as well as a Victorian style glasshouse serving up mouth-watering, wood-fired pizzas.
