Nestled on its own patch of land planted with local blooms and flowering shrubs, The Hayloft is a quintessentially English cottage in a quiet and picturesque rural idyll. This comfy cottage is ideal for couples looking for a truly special time away close to Bath. Renovated to bring contemporary design touches to a pleasing and historic building, The Hayloft combines high ceilings, light-filled rooms and exposed timber beams with speedy WiFi, ultra-comfy sofas and a sleek fitted bathroom, creating an aesthetic which combines comfort with grandeur.
The cottage itself benefits from its own garden with a stand of crocosmia and other English countryside blooms, creating a delightful space in every season. In the warmer months fire up the barbecue and enjoy a delicious meal of locally sourced meat and seasonal vegetables, and in the winter snuggle up inside and take in the beauty of your surroundings from your snug and cosy cottage.
Inside, the cottage is arranged on an open plan basis, with the double bed tucked into an alcove in the main space, and areas carved out for your kitchen, dining area and relaxing space. The light just pours in through the windows, and with high vaulted ceilings and a soft palette, the loft-style space feels light and airy all year round. There really is nothing quite like sitting out in the last of the evening light with a loved one, surrounded by plants and the gentle calls of rare birds. Spend your days pottering around the Bath countryside, your evenings visiting the fantastic local pubs the area is celebrated for, and your nights curled up with a book in your very own paradise.
Despite the rural aspect of The Hayloft, guests will be pleased to learn that they're conveniently close to the major settlements of Bath and Bristol, ideal for day trips and a change of scenery. Drive to Bath in just 20 minutes, or take a direct train to Bristol. That said, many guests choose not to leave the picturesque local area, spending their time strolling about the village, riding bikes to local pubs or riding horses. Whether you're an experienced hiker or just starting out, the multitude of trails and footpaths in the region are bound to suit walkers of all levels, while more sedate holidaymakers will love the historic churches in the village, as well as the eateries in and around Wellow, from casual gastropubs to more formal restaurants.
