Stouslie Snugs is situated on a family run livestock farm two miles north of Hawick and offers three luxurious and cosy pods (or snugs) named Sleepy Sheep, Cosy Cow and Dozy Dog. They would be perfect for couples, friends, or a group wanting to explore one of Scotland's best kept secrets; The Scottish Borders!
Each curved wooden pod is delightful and surprisingly spacious, decorated in muted greys with the natural wood giving the space a warm cosy feel. There's definitely a Scandinavian vibe with the décor being modern, simple and elegant. You enter through a glass door that allows light to flood the space and are greeted with a cosy corner sofa that can be pulled out into a double bed as an extra sleep space. There's a flat screen 32 inch Smart TV on the wall for Netflix and chill nights, beneath which a fold out table rests with two chairs. The kitchenette a little further in has everything you could need for a cooked meal and includes a hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, kettle and toaster.
A cosy double bed nestles in a private little nook and at the back you'll find a great ensuite with a shower and heated towel rails. As an additional luxury all the pods have underfloor heating so if you're experiencing some classic Scottish weather you can stay in and snuggle on the sofa toasty and warm with a movie and some popcorn.
As fabulous as the pods are, the real treat is the outside area! Step out of the door on to the decking and your own private enclosed garden area. Pour a glass of something refreshing and settle in one of the chairs where you can enjoy the breathtaking view across the Teviotdale valley. It's a constantly shifting landscape of rolling hills and one you could never tire of.
When you start getting peckish, top up your glass, throw some kindling on the hand-built bespoke BBQ station and whip up an alfresco feast. Even if it's a little drizzly it won't matter as the BBQ has been built with a shelter to keep you dry whilst you cook! You can order a BBQ hamper or breakfast to be delivered to the pod making life extra easy and it's a wonderful way to get a taste of the local fare.
As the sun sets, your little oasis will be lit up by fairy lights making it all rather romantic. And last but never least, you have your very own Scandinavian wood fired hot tub with pergola, right there, in your private garden. Grab the bottle, climb in, lie back and watch the stars whilst the wood logs crackle away before crawling into your cosy bed and enjoying a good night's sleep.
The Scottish Borders are steeped in history and adventure. There are lots of festivals, distilleries and local food to be enjoyed. And if you're an active sort you'll find a plethora of cycling and walking routes around this beautiful part of Scotland.
If you fancy exploring the area, Hawick is a short drive or walk away where you'll find an abundance of shops, restaurants and an award winning park to have a stroll around. For a bite and a pint you might like to try The Riversedge or pop into the Howgate cafe for a caffeine fix. For something a bit more elegant in the evening try Adam's Kitchen or Nightsafe Bistro for some Scottish delights!

Our prices are based on two guests staying in a pod (Snug) and vary according to the time of year and duration of your stay. The longer you stay the cheaper the price per night.
Additional guests are charged at £10 per person per stay.
