Luxury log cabin in the Scottish Highlands surrounded by stunning mountains, lochs and forests.
Surrounded by snow capped mountains and thick pine forest, this lovely timber cabin makes the perfect base for exploring this exceptionally beautiful part of the world. Spey Cabin, with its Douglas Fir timber-frame, offers Scandi-style in the Scottish Highlands and its exposed timbers give a rustic feel to the cosy, yet bright and stylish interior.
The living space is open plan, and offers the perfect set-up for families and friends to socialise together whether cooking, eating, watching TV, or simply chatting over a glass of wine. The kitchen is superbly equipped with modern Bosch appliances throughout. Cupboards and tiles are modern and sleek, making the area an easy place to throw together suppers for hungry guests fresh from the Aviemore slopes. A large, wooden, dining table has plenty of room for all guests to enjoy mealtimes together, sharing recollections of the day and making plans for future adventures. Windows and plenty of spotlighting bring an abundance of light into this lovely sociable area.
After dinner, take digestifs over to the cosy lounge area. Two large sofas with cheerful scatter cushions invite visitors to sink down, put up their feet and watch the relaxing flicker of the flames in the wood burning fire. Settle into a film on the widescreen, wall mounted television, or break out the boardgames for an evening of fun.
When bedtime beckons there are three lovely bedrooms to chose from, a super king master and two twins, although they can both be converted to super kings. Calming neutral colour tones have been used throughout - modern, muted greys compliment the crisp white linens, while the tartan scatter cushions give a nod to the Scottish location. Pretty woodland views can be enjoyed from the bedrooms and those who love an early night can make the most of the flatscreen televisions which are found in each of the rooms. The master has a luxurious en suite with a rainfall shower and stone-topped vanity areas. The family bathroom is no less luxurious and boasts a Finnish sauna for the ultimate in relaxation.
Spey Cabin is situated on a holiday park which offers plenty of on-site experiences but guests looking for adventure find themselves truly spoilt in this stunning spot. The Cairngorm Mountains are a popular winter sports destination, and in summer, guests can hike, or take the funicular, to the top and enjoy the breathtaking views. Those who prefer watersports will love Loch Morlich, popular for sailing, kayaking, paddle-boarding and swimming. And when it's time to eat, there are many options. Aviemore has plenty of good shops for sourcing picnic grub, while The Winking Owl is a great family-friendly pub serving beer from the Cairngorm brewery or checkout The Mountain Cafe for breakfasts, lunches and bakery.
