Rustic charm meets modern design in this beautifully restored 19th century blacksmith’s barn. Set within 26 acres of rural countryside on the edge of the stunning North York Moors, it’s the perfect place to unwind, recharge your batteries and reconnect with nature.
Inside this welcoming property you’ll find a fusion of original features and contemporary design. A neutral colour palette and natural textiles help create a calming space, while carefully curated antiques and homewares add extra interest. With cosy yet spacious rooms and stunning views across the rolling countryside, you’ll feel yourself relax as soon as you step through the front door.
At the heart of this home is the open-plan living area which boasts a wonderful, high-vaulted ceiling. Enormous sliding doors flood the space with natural light and offer breathtaking views across the picturesque Vale of Pickering. The lounge area has enough soft seating for everyone, arranged in a sociable layout so it’s easy to catch up in comfort.
The fully equipped, bespoke kitchen area has everything you’ll need to whip up a feast and also features a handy breakfast bar where you can enjoy a coffee in the morning or a glass of wine while dinner’s cooking. The dining area has a large table with seating for six and is perfectly positioned to make the most of those stunning rural views.
The two luxurious bedrooms are decorated in calming tones to help aide a good night’s sleep. Both are ensuite with a super-king size bed and one of the rooms also has a mezzanine floor with two single beds, so it can accommodate a family of four.
Outside, the space is just as appealing as inside. Step through the sliding doors from the living area and you’ll find a delightful south-facing patio and garden. Whether you’re enjoying an alfresco meal at the dining table, sipping a sundowner on the comfy sofa, taking a relaxing dip in the hot tub or keeping warm around the fire pit, you’ll be treated to fabulous, panoramic views over the well-kept lawn to the picturesque vale beyond.
The South Range enjoys a remote location on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. The surrounding countryside is waiting to be explored on foot and the sleepy market town of Pickering is just 3.4 miles away. For anyone craving a slice of history, medieval York, with its ancient city walls, Gothic cathedral and 14th century streets, can be reached by car in around an hour.
