Just off the North Cornish coast, Songbirds is a recently renovated cottage which sleeps six guests between three bedrooms, available on a self-catered basis. Restored from a former barn building by the current owners, Songbirds is characterised by high ceilings, light-filled rooms, whitewashed walls, and exposed architectural features. A number of brilliant amenities such as the outdoor pizza oven, pond, petanque course and fire pit make it a dreamy place to spend quality time outdoors with friends or family.
The largest of the three bedrooms benefits from a walk-in shower and king-sized bed, while the other two bedrooms have a king sized bed and a versatile set up which can be made up as twin singles or a super-king.
Everything about Songbirds has been judiciously designed with the guests in mind. Both inside and outdoors there is an abundance of seating, living space and entertainment amenities. On a rainy day, take advantage of the Sonos sound system, throw a few logs on the wood-burning stove, and snuggle up with a book, board game or DVD. When the days are clear, the world really is your oyster. Throw open the doors and ramble around the surrounding land, or enjoy a game of petanque on the full size course. Enjoy a cup of coffee in the bright and spacious kitchen, or pop outside and plan the day’s expeditions while slower members of your party enjoy leisurely washes in the walk-in showers.
After the day’s adventures, choose from a pizza in the outdoors wood-fired oven, a barbecue with local game, meat and fresh seafood, or take advantage of the first class range-style cooker in the kitchen, which is a delight to cook and chat, and eat in.
Whether you’re a young couple looking to spend a long weekend in coastal Cornwall or a pair of two families hoping for a rambling and dining tour of the Westcountry, Songbirds is perfectly located for guest to benefit from everything this stunning and culturally rich region has to offer. The quaint but edgy town of Bude can be reached in a car within fifteen minutes, particularly popular with surfers. Alternatively, for more intimate location, head to the equally close Crackington. For a day ramble, you can’t beat the muddy woodland path which leads to the coast at Millook Haven, a secluded and stunning cove where the Zig Zag rock formations can be taken in. This area of Cornwall is a hidden gem, private and unspoiled, but beloved by those familiar with it. Characterised by charming pubs, swathes of stunning coast, and uniquely Cornish topography, the Bude region is an area which must be visited to be appreciated.

Leave a reviewWow, what a beautiful play to stay. We loved absolutely everything Songbirds has to offer from the moment we saw the incredible views we knew we were going to love it. Songbirds is well equipped, comfortable & maintained incredibly well both inside & out. There is plenty of space to sit & take in all of the incredible views, let the dog run around & also have a go with the pizza oven which we just about mastered. We chose to cook most of our meals & found everything we needed as the kitchen is well equipped. If you do fancy eating out there are some local places to eat close by. Rory & Anna are great hosts & were on hand if you needed anything & left us the most tasty welcome hamper & treats for our lab. Thank you Songbirds for a brilliant week, we cant wait to come back.

Absolutely exceptional property, super comfortable, everything is high spec, very well equipped, really well laid out for families (our children particularly loved the snug) and perfect for entertaining too. Its setting was lovely in terms of being very private with incredible views and plenty of space for children to play. The surrounding area has lots to offer in terms of restaurants, cafes, beaches, walks, cycling and soft play etc. It was abundantly clear Rory and Anna care about what they do. We had a fantastic holiday and we will be back!

A beautiful property, very well equipped and super comfortable. Excellent space for families with lots to do in the area, all within a short driving distance. Great communication with hosts. Thoughtful touches of wine and chocolates for us and dog beds, bowls and treats for the fur-kids, made for a very welcome arrival. Thank you for a brilliant week!

Had an amazing week here, the weather was hit and miss but if you have to be in on a wet day its a beautiful and comfortable warm place to be. Amazing views, great set up in all the bedrooms and bathrooms and the kitchen had everything you would need (aside from those annoying plates that are hard to pick up with oven gloves on :-)). The layout is really good so you can really separate eating and relaxing/sleeping, didn't really use the mezzanine snug as was mostly only the 2 of us so plenty of room - I may moan a lack of coffee table for my mug whilst I lounged and read the papers and if I was suggesting next additions a coffee machine rather than cafetiere would be a plus. There is a great little shop just short hop in the car attached to a campsite/caravan site which sold lots of lovely bits and pieces - food, drink, snacks and gift items, I think it had a cafe too. Bude very easy to drive to and carpark super cheap for as long as you need for a glorious beach or coastal park walk. Close enough for a day out in Padstow though make sure you walk into the centre rather than spend all your money in the 1st shop by the expensive car park - beach and coastal path walks here also great. Had a spin to Tintagel but not really worth it, in my opinion. Dog friendly property, cattle grates stop them roaming too far or chasing sheep unless very determined, the bulls in the field did cause some barking but they are far enough away and a fence with wire at the bottom again which would stop most dogs getting into the field, slight downside is no dog walks (when as wet as it had been) from the door. Drive down the final lane to the property is quite steep and a little bumpy so definitely don't suggest taking any sporty numbers down to the house. Would love to have tried the pizza oven or fire pit but just wasn't the weather for it but all very well laid out when the weather is better. Had a very relaxing week, any questions quickly responded to and would definitely recommend.

Can’t rate this property highly enough! It’s absolutely beautiful, immaculately clean and tastefully decorated. Stunning open plan areas , with lots of natural light flooding in, well equipped kitchen and comfortable bedrooms and luxury bathrooms. The living areas are at the other end of the house from the sleeping areas as well which is nice. Stunning views and very peaceful apart from the gentle sounds of the neighbouring sheep and cows. Perfect place for couples or families, the kids loved the giant swing and the hammock as well as the boules court. The owners also left a lovely welcome basket of goodies which was very appreciated. Well located for lots of surrounding beaches and sights. 15 minutes to Bude and it’s town , beach and supermarkets, easy distance to Tintagel, Port Isaac, Bossiney Cove, Boscastle and much more. You won’t regret booking this property.
