Located on a farm in the beautiful village of Avebury in the Wiltshire countryside, this spacious three-bedroom house has been converted from some of the farm's old stables. Named after the historic Silbury Hill, which you can see from the master bedroom, the interior design reflects the natural surroundings with its colour palette and materials. You also get to enjoy the best bits of life on a farm with beautiful rural surroundings and the freshest produce available anywhere. The bacon and sausages for your morning fry up or the steaks for an extravagant dinner can all be delivered right to your stable door.
The layout of the interior really makes the most of the structure of the original stables building, creating an airy and relaxing space. The high, vaulted ceilings with their beautiful wooden beams retain plenty of the building’s character while enhancing the modern, open-plan design of the living area. You’ll find a big, open central space that has areas for cooking, dining and chilling in front of the TV in a way that means everyone can be together while still doing their own thing. The big, sliding glass doors that lead straight out onto the stables courtyard flood the space with natural light.
You’ll find two of the bedrooms on the ground floor, a king-size double and a twin, that share a family bathroom. These rooms are both comfy and relaxing with greens and soft oranges used in the decor. You’ll find the third bedroom on the mezzanine level above, accessed via a ladder. This room has a cosy feel, with sloping ceilings, exposed brick and wooden beams. It has an ensuite bathroom and beautiful views out to Silbury Hill.
The farm is located in the heart of Wiltshire and is the perfect base for exploring the county. There’s plenty of walking to be done in the immediate vicinity and the walk from the farm, through the Sanctuary stone circle and back via Silbury Hill to learn more about this neolithic landmark is a must. Head to Stonehenge or the beautiful town of Lacock if you’d like to soak up a bit more local history. Westonbirt Arboretum offers more in the way of scenic walks and the city of Bath is also nearby for a bit of retail therapy or just to go for a swim in the spa's rooftop pool.
