The cabin at Praktyka is the perfect place to escape the hustle and bustle of the modern world. Nestled among mature trees in a tranquil secret garden, it’s your secluded spot to relax, recharge and reconnect with the natural world. Natural materials bring the outside in, while the peaceful North Devon countryside encourages you to reflect and embrace the simple things in life.
As you wander the path to the cabin at Praktyka, the rustling of leaves and gentle birdsong introduce you to your secluded escape. Designed to inspire creativity and reflection, the simple square room is split by a diagonal curtain that divides your sleeping and living areas. The theme of squares, diagonals and diamonds contrasts the irregular patterns of the natural world, while the minimalist interior creates a sense of calm. Technology like Wi-Fi and a Sonos speaker provide an unobtrusive link to the modern world, while underfloor heating keeps the cabin warm in the cooler months.
A king size bed adorned with luxury bedding is your spot to rest your tired head. Whether you’ve spent the day meditating, joining one of the onsite creative workshops, taking part in a yoga session or exploring beautiful Devon, the cabin is your sanctuary. A fully-equipped kitchenette has everything you need for a mini break including a 2-ring induction hob, fridge, kettle, toaster and all utensils. In the summer why not dine alfresco on the outdoor furniture or fire up the coal BBQ?
All guests are also welcome to use the large communal kitchen with SMEG oven, dishwasher, large fridge freezer, board games and plenty of space to hang out.
In the evenings, a wood-fired outdoor bath and hot shower provide ample opportunities to freshen up in a private space - just give it an hour or so to warm up! Light the fire pit and get ready for an evening of stargazing, or grab one of the books or board games for a relaxed evening.
Located near Devon’s rugged Atlantic coast, it’s the ideal base to explore beautiful beaches, picturesque villages and the dramatic landscapes of Dartmoor and Exmoor National Parks. Catch some waves at Westward Ho!, Saunton Sands or Woolacombe Beach, or explore the famous South West Coast Path on foot for some unrivalled views. The nearby town of Great Torrington offers a place to grab the essentials or enjoy a meal, while further afield, Bideford and Barnstaple have a host of independent shops, restaurants, pubs and cafes.
