Great for large families or groups of friends, Maristow Cottage provides the perfect sanctuary to escape busy life and relax in the South Devon countryside. The charming property boasts a huge living space, three cosy bedrooms and wonderful views of the scenic surroundings. The cottage sits in a private, family-owned estate, and guests staying will have access to the site’s fantastic facilities. Swim in the heated indoor or outdoor pool, relax in the hot tub, sauna and steam room or improve your tennis skills on the full-sized court. There’s also a soft playroom and adventure playground to keep the little ones occupied.
Visitors enter the cottage into the generously sized, open-plan living space that has a traditional, high vaulted ceiling and lots of natural light. The seating area has deep, comfy sofas and chairs, a TV and a log burner to cosy up around in the evenings – a lovely place to socialise or recharge after a day out exploring. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to cook up a delicious meal, which can be shared around the large dining table. French doors open out to a Juliette balcony with stunning views across the grounds, tennis court and countryside. A staircase leads up to the mezzanine, which has a single sofa bed and looks out over the living space.
The cottage has three bedrooms, one double, one twin (which can be pushed together) and one small twin room with L-shaped cabin beds, suitable for under 12’s only. The twin bedroom has an ensuite bathroom with a shower, and access to the ground floor patio, where guests can enjoy drinks or a bite to eat and take in the views. The property also has a family bathroom with a bath, central and underfloor heating. A bespoke concierge service is available for an extra special experience.
Gitcombe Estate is nestled away in the South Hams, an area of natural beauty. The site boasts 14 acres of grounds to explore, with footpaths leading to the surrounding countryside and some great local pubs. There are an array of wonderful beaches a short drive away, including the sheltered bay of Blackpool Sands and the secluded sandy inlet at Soar Mill Cove. As well as swimming in the crystal-clear waters, the coast offers an abundance of activities for all ages, such as surfing, paddleboarding, fishing, sailing and rock pooling. The vibrant waterside towns of Dartmouth, Salcombe and Totnes, are also nearby and are all full of fantastic eateries, bars and shops.
