Head to the beautiful rural surroundings of South Devon and stay in the Garden House of Gitcombe Estate near Totnes. This spacious and elegant holiday cottage is ideal for larger groups of family or friends and perfectly blends its history with modern luxury.
Sleeping up to eight guests, you enter through the enclosed porch into the light and airy open plan living area. This spacious room has a vaulted beamed ceiling and comfy sofas and armchairs sitting in front of the log burner and flat screen TV. There are also French doors which offer stunning views of the grounds and the Devon countryside beyond.
Also on this level is the open plan kitchen and dining space. This is well equipped for large groups, with a big island unit with hob and oven, as well as an oak dining table, chairs, and bench that seats between 10 and 12 people.
Stairs then lead down to the lower floor and the four bedrooms. There is a king size and a standard double, both of which have an ensuite with shower, WC, and basin. The third is a twin room, while the final bedroom has L-shaped cabin beds which are suitable for the under-12s only. These two share the family bathroom, which has a WC, basin, and bath with overhead shower.
The French doors from the living area lead out onto the private terrace. As well as the fabulous views, there is also wooden dining furniture and a built-in barbecue out here. Heading round the cottage reveals the secret sun deck with relaxing chair loungers.
A private pathway winds its way to the estate’s leisure facilities, which includes an indoor swimming pool. For that added bit of luxury ask the hosts about their recommended caterers, who will come in and take the stress of food preparation off your hands. The other great thing about Gitcombe Garden House is its location, with the beaches of Blackpool Sands, Salcombe, and Dartmouth all within easy reach. Alternatively, head up onto Dartmoor with its many hikes and trails, or discover the independent shops and culture of Totnes.
Please note: minimum stay for this property is: 3 nights low season & 7 nights high season
