Tucked away on a secluded private road on the edge of the charming Devon town of Okehampton, Lily Pad Garden Flat is the ultimate romantic retreat for two. This warm and comfy ground-floor apartment is fully equipped and has been artistically designed, offering a serene hideaway just moments from the town's conveniences. You’re also perched right on the edge of Dartmoor National Park, meaning you can venture out and explore the striking natural scenery that this beautiful region has to offer.
The interior of the flat has a cosy, cottage feel with exposed stone, beautiful fireplaces and lovely ornaments throughout. Get comfy in the quaint lounge with its coal-effect fireplace and ornate armchairs. This is a great place to enjoy a morning coffee or evening tipple with your loved one and is also ideal for warming toes after a day exploring Dartmoor. There is also a beautiful sofa at one end of the space should you wish to stretch out and relax in style.
The apartment’s kitchen is nicely equipped with everything you’ll need to prepare romantic feasts and hearty breakfasts during your stay and you can dine on the folding table in the kitchen or alfresco in the peaceful garden. After dinner, why not hop into the shared hot tub for an indulgent soak? This is the perfect place to enjoy a glass of bubbles as you gaze up at the starry night sky.
When bedtime beckons, the flat’s wonderful bedroom is a peaceful haven that guarantees a perfect night’s sleep. The room features beautiful furnishings, lovely artwork on the walls and a sumptuous bed with luxury bedding. Wake up feeling refreshed and enjoy a nice cuppa in bed, before enjoying a lovely shower in the bathroom and heading out to explore Okehampton and Dartmoor National Park.
When you head out to explore, you’ll be delighted to know that the railway station is a mere two-minute stroll away, perfect for those who prefer to leave the car behind. However, it is worth noting that for those of you travelling with a car, there is a private parking space provided.
A place to hire bikes, including electric bikes, is just five minutes away, giving you easy access to the picturesque 'Granite Way' cycle and footpath, which is only three minutes from your front door. This scenic route leads you over an impressive viaduct, offering stunning views across the amazing moors to Meldon Dam.
A leisurely 10-minute walk through the charming Symonds Park brings you to Okehampton town centre. This vibrant market town has all the amenities you need, from supermarkets and shops to a castle, museum and more than 10 cafes! Explore antique stores, bookshops, jewellers and an array of fabulous dining options.
If it’s wet and windy out, why not enjoy a movie at the local cinema? You can also make use of the local sports facilities, including an indoor pool, and choose from four delightful pubs!
