This lovely 19th century stable (once home to horse named Ted) has been artfully converted and extended to create a romantic rural retreat for couples seeking serenity in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Tucked down a lane in the pretty village of Over Haddon, this contemporary conversion opens through a stable door into a beautifully designed open plan kitchen, dining and seating area. The space has a very Scandinavian feel with ash herringbone flooring, a pale round dining table and black wishbone chairs. With two automated windows above flooding the space with light, the kitchen has been skilfully crafted and fully equipped for the cooking of fanciful feasts and big breakfasts. There's even Fohen kettle taps for instant boiling water.
After a delicious dinner, cosy up on the comfy two-seater sofa and watch a movie on the Smart TV, listen to the radio as you sip some wine, or help yourself to one of the books provided and curl up for a night of reading.
When it's time for bed, head up the wooden staircase to the charming bedroom with sloped ceilings, exposed original beams and a large comfortable bed beautifully made up with linens, throws and plush cushions. Two skylights are set to the side of the bed and make for an amazing sunset view over the Dales!
In the morning you'll be delighted by the ultra modern monochrome wet room with its large rainfall shower. Pop your towel on the heated rail and indulge in a long hot shower before heading into the kitchen for breakfast. If you want to sit outside and take in the morning sun, the stable comes with a private terrace situated a few steps down the lane from your bolt hole. You'll find an outdoor sofa and a coffee table where you can settle in with a cuppa and make plans for the day.
The village has been named one of the most peaceful places in the UK and is a hidden gem of the Peak District. You'll be a short stroll from the Lathkill Dale, where you can hike or cycle to you heart's content before rewarding yourself with a pint, some good food and some stunning views at the historic Lathkill pub.
You'll only be two miles from Bakewell where you can pop into the original Bakewell Shop for a delicious tart to enjoy for dessert! It's also has a number of shops where you can pick up local goods. And if you're an Artisan fan, the impressive Chatsworth Estate is within easy traveling distance and has its own farm shop that's well worth a visit.
