This fabulous cabin oozes quirky charm offering couples a wonderfully romantic retreat in Essex just under an hour from London by train. If you’re looking for a weekend getaway with your loved one to celebrate an anniversary or minimoon, or you simply want to unwind together in peace, then this incredible stay might just be perfect.
Supremely stylish, the cabin is open plan, with a beautiful king size oak bed made from driftwood where you can enjoy a peaceful night’s sleep. Next to the bed sits the opulent free-standing copper roll-top bathtub, offering an opulent place to relax and unwind amidst the bubbles after a day out and about. The cabin’s living area also features a fab fireplace, meaning you can stay toasty and warm whatever the weather outside.
For an added slice of luxury, head out into your peaceful garden, where an array of plants create a calming atmosphere. Then, hop into your private hot tub with your loved one for an indulgent soak beneath the stars. There’s also a firepit out here, where you can toast marshmallows over the flames.
Back inside, the cabin has a quaint, but fully-equipped kitchenette, with everything you’ll need to prepare meals that you can enjoy on the dining table for two. There’s also a lovely sofa where you can unwind with a good book or chat the night away before bed.
The ensuite bathroom is modern, with a rainfall shower for morning soaks, and there’s also heating and WiFi throughout for added convenience.
Venture out and explore the ancient woodland around you or make a trip to the nearby Colchester Zoo. Two cosy pubs are just a stroll away, serving up hearty, home-cooked fare and if you want to explore further, Colchester’s vibrant city centre is just six miles away - packed with Roman history, buzzing bars and top-notch eateries.
If you prefer countryside charm, there are picture-postcard villages, scenic walks and rustic pubs (some Michelin-starred) in the area. Whether it’s wild hikes or lazy lunches, this spot blends tranquil nature with easy access to culture, cuisine and adventure.
