Croftview is a fabulous, purpose-built holiday home nestled in a 1,200 acre country estate in the heart of the rolling Somerset Hills. With 13 ensuite luxury bedrooms sleeping up to 30 in total this home would be a wonderful destination for a large family reunion, a celebratory get together or an all-inclusive wedding.
Despite its size Croftview feels like a home rather than a giant hotel and as you arrive in the courtyard you'll be pleasantly surprised by how pretty the building and exterior lawns are. Inside is spacious and light, stylishly decorated with wonderful traditional touches such as the exposed beams, and every room has its own theme and colours making it feel warm and welcoming.
Gather together in the vast open-plan kitchen, living and dining area, an impressive, carefully thought out space where everyone can unwind with a drink and nowhere feels crowded. The kitchen is a chef's dream with five slide and hide integrated cookers, five ovens, a boiling water tap and a huge US style fridge/freezer and several dishwashers ensuring you have everything you could possibly need to feed a big party without hassle. And when it's time to eat the bespoke 30-seater long wooden table is a dream come true for special occasions. No bumping elbows or separate tables, just one fabulous place to feast late into the night with loved ones, and the table looks spectacular when laid with pretty plates, napkins and flowers.
The living space has a very long cornered sofa where everyone can get comfy, light up the wood burner, and snuggle up for a movie night. And for those who don't fancy a film, grab a beer and head through to the impressive games room where you can watch some Sky sports on the flat screen, play air hockey and pool or just chill.
When it's time for bed you'll have 13 luxurious ensuite rooms to choose from. All of them have super-king size beds and all bar one of them can be made into twins if required. Each room is decked out in warm soothing colours with excellent bed linens, warm blankets and flat screen TVs. The ensuites vary with some having large walk-in showers or deep bathtubs and some having both! Every room has a welcome pack of Bramley toiletries for you to indulge yourself with, providing a nice little hotel style touch.
In the morning make use of the Nespresso Creatista and explore the rest of your holiday haven. You might like to start the day in the Spa Hall with a swim in the pool. Maybe a sauna followed by the jacuzzi. Afterwards you can head out into the garden and admire the view, take lunch alfresco on the terrace, watch the kids play in their own playground or explore the below ground 'Hobbit', a cosy rustic BBQ shack with a big fire pit at its centre.
There really is something for everyone and you won't need to leave the premises to remain constantly entertained. If, however, you fancy a visit to the pub you're a short 30-minute walk from The Lord Poulett Arms which is located in the village of Hinton St George. And Croftview is perfectly placed for you to explore all that South Somerset has to offer, which is an area that is rapidly becoming a foodie's haven.
