With beautiful interiors, ornate furnishings and bucketloads of rural charm, Ballies Cottage offers groups of up to eight a marvellous stay on the shores of Loch Rannoch. The surrounding scenery is epic and striking, with rolling hills and huge bodies of water just waiting to be explored, and inside the cottage, you’ve got a warm and cosy base to retire back to after a busy day out and about.
The social hub of the cottage is the open plan living space. Here you’ll find a comfy lounge area, with big sofas and armchairs, where you can settle in for an evening spending time with loved ones. There’s a wood-burning fireplace here too, so you can stay toasty and warm whatever the weather outside.
At the other end of the open plan living space is where you’ll find the quaint kitchenette, which is stylish and nicely equipped with modern appliances. Get to work here whipping up delicious meals for your group as they chat away in the lounge. The spacious dining table comfortably seats your whole group making it ideal for social dinners together.
When you’re ready for bed, there are four beautiful bedrooms to choose from - two of which are situated on the ground floor and are accessible through secret panelled doors. Three of the bedrooms have super-king size beds and one is a twin, offering plenty of flexibility for different group types.
When the sun is shining, head through the patio doors open onto a private terraced space, which offers a lovely place to unwind in the sunshine whilst taking in the view. And if you want to venture out and explore, there are kayaks and bikes available to borrow during your stay. This means you can get out on the loch for a paddle, or explore its shores on two wheels.
Spend your days exploring the loch’s tranquil shores or take to the water with the provided kayaks for a unique perspective of the stunning scenery. If you prefer to stay on dry land, hop on one of the available bikes and venture through the picturesque countryside on two wheels.
For a deeper connection with nature, wander through ancient woodlands where towering trees and vibrant rhododendrons frame breathtaking views of Schiehallion and Ben Alder. Follow rugged trails across vast moorlands, keeping an eye out for red deer, ospreys, and golden eagles. As night falls, relax beneath a sky illuminated by countless stars, far from city lights.
