Enjoy an incredible stay in a beautiful, tranquil setting directly on the shore of the stunning Loch Rannoch at Croscrag Cottages. With three different cottages of differing sizes, Croscrag Cottages has something for everyone. You can book the four person Wardens Cottage, the six person Cooks Cottage, or the largest of all the eight person Baillies Cottage. Or, if there is a big group of you, book all three cottages and enjoy a grand escape together!
All three of these marvellous stays are tucked away in the beautiful Perthshire countryside on the edge of the stunning loch and are just 20 minutes from the Rannoch Station on Caledonian Sleeper line, meaning they’re easily accessed from up and down the UK.
Up first is the quaint Wardens Cottage, split across two floors, which offers delightful views out over Loch Rannoch and Ben Alder. Gather together in the striking wood panelled, open-plan living room, where you can light the wood-burning fireplace and stay toasty and warm all year round. This space, like a lot of the cottage, features exquisite wallpaper and delightfully hand-picked furniture that’s guaranteed to ensure you have an enjoyable stay.
The cottage has two lovely bedrooms - one king size and one twin that can be converted into a super-king if needed - and a family bathroom that is situated on the ground floor featuring a luxurious roll-top bathtub for indulgent soaks. Wardens Cottage also has direct access onto its own private west-facing terrace where you can spend evenings sitting around the cosy fire pit enjoying an evening cocktail or alfresco meal.
Next is the slightly larger Cooks Cottage, which has three beautiful bedrooms, two of which have a super-comfy king size bed and one of which has two singles (which can be arranged as a super-king size bed if required).
With yet more amazing wallpaper and beautiful fixtures and fittings, this is a wonderfully calming cottage with a warming wood-burner in the stylish lounge and a carefully hand-crafted kitchen that’s ideal for whipping up delicious feasts. As well as one of the bedrooms having an ensuite shower room, the cottage also features a lovely family bathroom. Stepping outside, you have another private deck, with alfresco seating and some cosy throws for when the weather turns cool.
Last but not least is the grand, spacious Baillies Cottage. This incredible home has a beautiful open plan living area, featuring a stylish and nicely equipped, bespoke kitchen, an ornate dining table big enough for the whole group and a delightful lounge area. Gather here with a morning coffee or evening tipple and get comfy on the hand-picked furniture as you chat long into the night whilst the fire crackles away. Patio doors take you out onto your private terrace, where you can sit in the warm summer sunshine and enjoy an evening tipple as the sun begins to set.
When night falls, Baillies Cottage also boasts four double bedrooms, three of which are super-king size. The last bedroom is a twin, offering plenty of flexibility for different types of group. And, to top it off, all four of the bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms for added privacy.
You can hire these cottages individually or, if there are enough of you, why not book all three and enjoy a group getaway in style. If you book the three cottages together, you can sleep a total of 18 guests across nine bedrooms.
Set across over 10 acres of private grounds where moorland and mountainside meet a beautifully landscaped lochshore, discover a landscape that is both wild and refined. Immerse yourself in the raw beauty of nature, or find the peace and solitude to spark fresh inspiration.
If you wish to venture out and explore the area, there’s lots to see and do. Croscrag Cottages sit in the peaceful Perthshire countryside close to Loch Rannoch. You and your loved ones can enjoy hiking trails like the Rannoch Moor for its dramatic landscapes or the path up Schiehallion Mountain for panoramic views. Water sports enthusiasts might kayak or fish in the loch’s pristine waters. Nearby, explore the historic Kinloch Rannoch village or take a scenic drive to Rannoch Station. You can also enjoy wildlife spotting, picnicking and cycling around the loch’s shoreline.
