Set in lush green rolling hills, on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, Alpaca Lookout is luxurious and stylish down to the last detail. This lovely barn, with space for four, is decorated with South American-inspired flair and, uniquely, comes with its own private heated garden spa room, outdoor barbecue kitchen, large garden - and, yes, it has alpacas!
Inside this two-storey retreat, you’ll be welcomed by a light and airy open plan space. Boho design and a rich mixture of textures and colour, combine with modern simplicity and functionality to evoke a fun, yet restful feel. In the entrance hall, you’ll catch glimpses of pretty blue feature walls, lit alcoves, patterned tiles and luxurious light fittings, all underpinned by lovely pale stone flooring and benefitting from large windows and glass doors.
A handy WC, with a wooden wash-stand and delightful ceramic and brass hand basin sits just inside the entrance hall.
The fully-equipped kitchen, with its gorgeous blue fitted cupboards and breakfast bar, electric oven, microwave, toaster and kettle, makes a sociable spot to eat breakfast. Next to the kitchen, a chunky wooden dining table, with a lovely fur-covered bench and rattan chairs, provides further space to enjoy delicious meals with your group.
The comfortable lounge features leather sofas where you can cosy up after a long day’s adventuring, with an eco wood-effect stove, TV and WiFi to keep you entertained.
Gorgeous design continues into the two upstairs bedrooms, with fabulous wallpaper, wooden furniture, velvet chairs and comfortable beds. Plentiful windows offer lovely views and a glimpse of the alpacas, who you'll be offered an opportunity to meet and feed during your stay. Ensuite bathrooms, complete with WCs, walk-in showers and hand basins, serve the bedrooms.
Alpaca Lookout's pièce de résistance is perhaps its fantastic outdoor space. As you step onto the patio, you’ll see the wonderful garden spa room, ¾ acre garden, barbecue kitchen, outdoor dining area and sun loungers. The unique spa room has a jacuzzi, sofa and wood-burning stove and makes a wonderful space to relax. On warmer nights, the bi-fold doors can be opened to let in the fresh night air and stunning view of the stars.
The barn is set within the Brecon Beacons National Park, just waiting to be explored on foot or by bike. From the barn, there are charming woodland walks along the river, one to a great pub a mile and a half away. Mid-Wales is host to many castles, gardens and houses and opportunities for outdoor sports abound. Nearby Sennybridge is a good place to pick up supplies.
Please note that the minimum stay for this property is 3 nights
Alpaca Lookout is owned and managed by Helen Howarth.
You can ask a question or make a booking request directly with Helen Howarth.
The minimum rental period over a weekend is three nights arriving on a Friday, or four nights mid-week arriving on a Monday, but you can decide to arrive or depart within this timeframe to suit you.
Both short breaks are priced the same, so if you stay mid-week you effectively get one night FREE!
A full seven-night retreat works out much better value, being just an extra 30% more than a short break.
To reserve your dates we would just require a 25% deposit and the remaining balance would be due eight weeks prior to arrival.
