With idyllic ocean views, fresh air and incredible wildlife and countryside nearby, these lovely cabins, situated on the edge of a Scottish island bay, are a magical place to get away, relax and find inspiration amongst nature.
It's a short five minute ferry ride to this incredible wild island, with regular crossings. The journey takes guests along a spectacular stretch of Scottish coastline, to the beautiful Isle of Luing and Torsa Bay, where these lovely cabins lie in a row facing the wildlife-rich Atlantic waters.
These simple cabins sit organically against the green and brown hues of the surrounding environment. With double glass doors at the end of the cabin, guests are offered a constant view of the beautiful surroundings. Step inside and discover these open plan accommodations which have all been furnished and decorated to the highest of standards. All the cabins have slightly different configurations, so no two are the same.
Luxurious furniture sits on wooden floors and teal-painted tongue and groove meets a domed pale roof which reflects light and creates space. In the pretty bijoux kitchen area, guests will discover everything they need to create delicious romantic meals. Source local hand-dived scallops, pan fry and enjoy with crisp white wine in the sun. The area is also famous for its delicious local langoustines, Luing beef, Luing lamb, venison, mussels, oysters and more!
Each cabin comes with its own private patio. Step outside and light-up the fire pit, stare at the pollution-free, starlit sky and breath in the freshest and cleanest Scottish air. And after days exploring this delightful island, kick back with a cup of tea in the the deep, luxurious sofa and gaze out over the bay.
When muddy hikes leave limbs aching and sore, slide into the roll top, free-standing bathtub. Fill with hot water and bubbles, relax and unwind before snuggling into the super-king size bed. Dressed with crisp white linens and thick, cosy duvets, guests are ensured a wonderful night's sleep leaving them revived and ready for another exciting day.
Larger groups can book all of WildLuing for exclusive use, including The Observatory which is a multifunction gathering space. This means that groups of up to 16 guests can all stay together in this marvellous part of Scotland. And for groups of 8 plus, the site can organise additional experience like visiting the nearby uninhabited island of Scarba, boat trips and farm tours.
The immediate area is teeming with wildlife including otters, eagles, seals, oystercatchers, red deer, lapwings, cormorants, basking sharks and dolphins. Take a guided trip to ensure the best chance of spotting some of these incredible creatures.
When days hiking the coast, or simply relaxing at the cabin, leave stomachs rumbling, head to nearby Oban, the seafood capital of Scotland, which has a great food, drink and folk culture scene. EE-USK serves the freshest locally-caught seafood and offers lovely views across the water, while for something more casual, check out Piazza for pizza and good wine. Guests are also encouraged to visit the fabulous local pub Tigh and Truish on the neighbouring isle of Seil, which serves up delicious food in a wonderful setting.

Leave a reviewI had the pleasure of staying at Wild Luing for four days in July 2023 and couldn’t praise it more highly. Firstly, the location of the cabins is spectacular. Even more spectacular than the pictures suggest, but also so incredibly quiet and peaceful. Literally the only noise you hear is the sound of birds. The island itself is now one of my favourite places in Scotland. Really easy to get to on the little ferry from the isle of Seil, which is such a fun experience in itself. The ferry takes about 5 minutes and was never close to being full on any of my trips back and forth. Cullipool is only half an hour’s walk along the road, where you may have two or three cars passing if any. There’s a shop and a visitor’s centre there, along with a beach, and it’s such a friendly and welcoming island - I chatted to several lovely locals on my forays into the village. The cabin is delightful. Spacious, really tastefully appointed and with everything you would need for a peaceful stay- lovely bathroom, great bed, super fast Wi-Fi, great little kitchen and a lovely outside seating area, complete with fire pit, wood and fire lighters. Jack and Emily, who own the site, are really lovely- helpful and attentive without being intrusive. I couldn’t fault this place - I absolutely loved it and will most definitely be returning, hopefully this year. Thank you, Jack and Emily, for a perfect stay.
