This charming farmhouse offers true peace and tranquility in the Cumbrian countryside
Set among the rolling hills of north Cumbria, inspiration for generations of poets, artists and musicians, Todd Hills Farm offers guests the chance to stop, breathe, relax and enjoy quality time with family and friends in the loveliest of England's countryside.
Take exhilarating swims in the nearby Lakes, scale the famous fells and explore the forests and woodlands, before returning to the comfort and luxury of this wonderful property.
Todd Hills Hall Farm is a traditional farmhouse which has been beautifully renovated retaining many original features such as the timber beams and stone floors, while incorporating the style and comfort essential for a relaxing and comfortable stay. The property is set amongst green pastures and boasts views of the nearby Pennines, ensuring you relaxation from the moment you step through the doorway onto the heated stone floors of the large kitchen and dining room.
A large island takes centre stage of the light, well-equipped kitchen and promises to be the hub of activity for all of your guests - whether enjoying a glass of wine and catching up, or preparing a celebration supper using the traditional Aga oven. The property accommodates 12 and the kitchen table will comfortably sit all the guests for leisurely breakfasts. Or, for more formal meals and celebrations, dine under the wrought iron chandeliers at the large table in the dining room and, afterwards, enjoy digestifs in the pretty sun room which boasts more views of the surrounding countryside.
A lovely sandstone terrace makes a great spot to barbecue, or snuggle up with blankets and cocoa under the pollution-free night sky and map the constellations to the soundtrack of the hooting owls.
When bedtime calls, slide between the fresh linen and sink into deep mattresses, take advantage of the silence and the dark to enjoy the deepest, most revitalising of sleeps. Each of the six bedrooms, one is situated on the ground floor, have magnificent views of the green pastures and feature either a roll top bath or rainfall shower. And, for the romantics, some of the rooms feature four poster beds.
There are plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy near the property, including clay pigeon shooting and pony trekking, but the immediate surroundings are so incredibly beautiful and relaxing that you may be forgiven for never leaving the comfort of the property. However, should you be tempted, there is a great pub, The Shepherd's Inn, a 10 minute stroll down a country lane. Nearby is Aira Force waterfall and Ullswater, with it's famous Steamer, is a short, and spectacular drive-away.
