For those looking for a large cottage for a family holiday, special occasion, or simply to get away with friends, Orrest Head House in the Lake District is the perfect option. This luxury property sits on two acres of private grounds and has everything on offer for a getaway to remember.

Sleeping up to 12 guests, the house boasts some superb and spacious social spaces for those staying to enjoy. In the lounge are huge leather Chesterfield sofas seating up to 16 people that sit in front of the wood burning stove and large flat screen TV. Then there is the dining room, complete with a table that seats up to 18, the ideal spot to enjoy meals prepared in the vast kitchen. This fully equipped space has a seven-ring burner twin oven, dishwasher, two sinks, and an American style fridge/freezer. There's also a utility room with washing machine and dryer for added convenience.

Meanwhile, those who want to take themselves off for some quiet time can enjoy the snug room complete with a large flat screen TV and DVD player. This is the ideal place to enjoy a movie or a box set away from the rest of the group. Orrest Head House also has its own bar room, named after one of its original owners, Josiah Brown, where you can socialise with your loved ones and enjoy a drink in the evening.

There are five individually styled bedrooms that offer great versatility to those staying. The two king size rooms each have a freestanding bath in the bedroom for added luxury and also an en-suite shower room providing plenty of privacy. The super king room has an en-suite with bath and shower. Finally, there are two bedrooms with three singles, which can be pushed together to make further super king beds. These both have en-suite bathrooms as well. All the pillows and duvets are duck and goose feather for that added touch of luxury, meaning guests are always guaranteed a fab night's sleep.

Outside there is a large patio with outdoor furniture that seats up to 18 people and a barbecue for alfresco dining. This makes socialising outside a must in the warmer months meaning guests can enjoy long meals outside as the sun sets.

Located in the Lake District, the famous Lake Windermere can be reached within 15 minutes by foot. There is also the walk up to Orrest Head - from which the house takes its name - right on the doorstep and there are many other hiking and cycling routes in this beautiful area. The village of Windermere with its cafes, bars, and independent shops is only 600 metres from the cottage.
