This stunning 19th century home has true grandeur and romance ensuring guests have a unique and luxurious stay. Sitting amongst 1000 acres of Northumberland countryside is is part of the Cragg Estate, meaning breathtaking views, tranquility and nature are easily found.
The property has been gradually updated to incorporate all the charm and character a heritage building imbues but with the 21st century touches which guarantee maximum comfort and relaxation for guests.
Visitors will be thrilled to arrive via a winding private driveway which takes them through the open countryside. Take in the stunning landscaped gardens where youngsters can safely run, explore and play while grown-ups enjoy drinks on the sunny patio. The exquisite interior decor of the house perfectly reflects Broadgate's heritage and many of the furnishings are vintage or vintage style - with a particular lean towards the Georgian period.
On arrival, head directly to the bright, modern kitchen with its wooden floor and kitchen island for tea and cake. The cooks in the family will love using the aga range oven which gives the room a cosy, welcoming feel. A large farmhouse-style table stands ready for guests to enjoy breakfasts and informal gatherings, catching up and making plans for the day.
For a more elegant dining experience, check out the beautiful formal dining room with its mahogany dining table, silver candle sticks, drapes at the windows and portraits on the wall. Perhaps hire a private chef for memorable meals in this atmospheric room.
After dinner, retire to one of the living areas. The drawing room is sublime, with ornate drapes adorning large sash windows and patio doors. Guests can settle into one of the grand sofas and admire the views or the original paintings hanging against the vintage-style wallpaper, all whilst warming their toes by the roaring fire. Or perhaps, pour an after dinner nightcap and hunker down in the cosy sitting room and watch a late film in the warm glow of the other open fire.
When its time for bed there are four opulent ensuite bedrooms to chose from, all equally luxurious and individually styled. There are a two further ensuite bedrooms in The Steading, a self contained accommodation a short walk from the main house.
The beautiful Northumberland countryside offers guests wonderful country walks from the doorstep and there are a number of historic Roman sites nearby. And foodies will love to end a day exploring with a visit to Restaurant Hjem, the first Michelin-starred restaurant in the area.
