History, style and comfort combine in this delightful barn conversion situated down a pretty country lane amongst beautiful countryside. Surrounded by green fields, dry stone walls and large open skies, Tissington Ford Barn is a stunning converted traditional stone barn and is the perfect spot to relax with family and friends.
Approach the barn through the wooden gate and down the delightful driveway. Guests will immediately be struck by the pretty, well-kept gardens, fields, and streams which surround this handsome barn. There is a large outdoor dining area for long, summer evenings, or afternoon barbecues. Visitors will be keen to make the most of the peaceful and attractive countryside.
Cooking will prove a joy in the large, country-style kitchen. Light flows through the French doors into this bright and airy space. Stunning candelabra-style light fittings illuminate the large kitchen table and bench seats. Guests will love gathering together and enjoying lengthy breakfasts while making plans for the day ahead.
The living room is a haven of comfort and style. A large wooden beam forms an eye-catching centrepiece and exposed brick walls are softened with delightfully luxurious soft furnishings, including thick, floor length curtains and scatter cushions covering the deep, comfortable sofas and armchairs. A wood burner sits set back in a stylish fireplace and a thick rug lies on the immaculate wooden flooring. Be sure to enjoy a nightcap by the fire before retiring to one of the luxurious bedrooms.
The barn sleep up to 12 visitors in six bedrooms, each with comfy mattresses and beautifully dressed with linens, spare quilts and blankets and an abundance of cushions. A French country style informs the decor, with pretty lamps and thoughtfully-chosen furniture and art works. Thick carpets and curtains keep rooms warm and dark at night while the windows offer light and lovely views when the morning comes. There are an additional four modern bathrooms and shower rooms.
Tissington is situated in the lovely Peak District and there is plenty to enjoy in the local area. Foodies will enjoy meals at The Knockerdown Inn and the Bently Brook Inn. Visitors enjoy gentle strolls around the peaks and climbs up Thorpe Cloud for great views across the district. Thrill seekers might want to visit nearby Alton Towers and everyone will be fascinated by the prehistoric art at Cresswell Craggs.
