Step back in time at The Temple Folly, an 18th Century Grade II listed building in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The folly sits on its own on a small copse, offering fantastic views across Wensleydale to Bolton Castle and the Lower Force at Aysgarth Falls.
A traditional folly from the outside, inside the interior has been completely renovated so that it is ideal for modern living. The whole property consists of two octagonal rooms, but has everything required for a perfect holiday for two.
The ground floor comprises of a kitchen, dining, and seating area that's great for relaxing and enjoying a cosy, comfy evening in. There is a small unit with an oven, stove, toaster, kettle and utensils, while the sink cleverly sits underneath a cupboard that opens to reveal the TV. Every nook and cranny is utilised, with benches under the windows, a comfy leather sofa and dining room table and chairs for two. There is also a woodburning stove to keep you warm in the cooler months.
A shower room with WC leads off the downstairs living area, before guests head up the stone staircase to the double bedroom. This has a double bed, plenty of storage space and a beautiful fireplace as the focal point of the room, as well as offering stunning views across the Dales from the balcony.
The nearest village of Aysgarth is just over a mile away and has tea rooms and a pub, while around a mile east is the magnificent Aysgarth Falls. The villages of West Witton and Askrigg are also just a short drive away, as is the market town of Hawes which stands between the stunning Buttertubs and Fleet Moss and is the home of the world famous Wensleydale cheese.
Getting out into the fresh air is what it is all about in the Yorkshire Dales and Redmire Falls on the River Ure is worth visiting. There are also an array of local walks right on the doorstep of The Temple Folly. For a little more adventure visit The Forbidden Corner, a labyrinth of tunnels and chambers within a 4-acre garden in Tupgill Park. History lovers should also take a look at Bolton Castle.
