The Pines Treehouse is a beautifully designed luxury escape nestled beneath the canopy of a huge oak tree, with glorious views and the sound of the running water of Sand Beck beneath. It would be an absolute treat for couples seeking peace and tranquility in lavish natural surroundings.
The interior is modern and beautifully designed, but combined with the massive deck, the overall feel is of a very spacious woodland cabin, that just happens to also be a treehouse. You wouldn't normally associate a treehouse as being a space where you can wander about and choose an area to relax in. But the unique design and layout of this wonderful place does just that.
The interior of the cabin is curved, cosy and very elegant in its design. A long open plan living area with a deep mustard sofa provides a perfect spot for unwinding in the evening. There's a sophisticated bioethanol, eco-friendly floating fireplace to keep you warm as you watch a movie together on the large projector.
The furnishings are minimal with a mid-century feel and there's a round dining table for two by the large patio doors where you can dine on chilly evenings.
The kitchen area is tucked away at one end beneath a mezzanine and comes well equipped with a full size oven, hob and grill. It even has a Nespresso machine where you can fix your first cup of the day. The inside has everything you could need to enjoy a cosy getaway no matter what the weather. In fact this place would be a romantic delight during a storm.
The king size bed is up a little winding staircase on the mezzanine and has a huge two-metre round window from which you can gaze through the trees to the view below. Sleep with the sound of nature and the wind rustling through the canopy around you, then wake to the sunshine streaming through the dappled leaves.
Heating and hot water are abundant and you can enjoy a long luxurious blast under the high pressure thermostatic shower before wrapping yourself in one of the fluffy towels and padding through for that coffee. There's also a sink and flushing toilet to keep things civilised!
The outside deck is what sets this treehouse apart. Make some breakfast, slide open the patio doors and settle at the covered rattan table and seats in the morning sun. This large space is an absolute treat surrounded by an arboretum of trees, wild birds and lovely views. In the evenings you can make use of the gas fire pit sunk within the dining table, creating a warm and cosy place to drink wine, play cards and make the most of the outdoors no matter the weather. There's also an outdoor shower on the deck for a morning rinse under the sky.
Sit outside and relax on the sun loungers, read a good book or take a snooze. If you fancy dining outside you can light the BBQ, enjoy a simple supper and then sink into the wood-fired hot tub and let the hydrotherapy bubbles ease the last of the tension from your muscles. At night the tub lights up so you can lie back, gaze at the night sky and drink some fizz in utter contentment.
You may choose to spend your entire visit in and around the tree house. And no one would blame you. But if you fancy exploring the area you'll be just a couple of minutes' drive from the historic town of Richmond, which offers good shopping and some fantastic places to eat. For a great pub meal The Black Bull Inn in Moulton prides itself on being a pub with good food, rather than a restaurant and a bar. Its seasonal à la carte menu showcases the best of local produce and you'll find a warm welcome awaits you. For something a bit more fancy you could book a table at The Coach House at Middleton Lodge. Much of the ingredients come from the estate gardens and comes highly recommended. And if you want to explore further afield an hour's drive will bring you to Harrogate and York.
