An unusual Watch Tower, believed to have been constructed approximately 150 years ago, now stands as a reinvented home. It features intriguing and quirky living quarters that encircle the central watch tower, which serves as the stunning master bedroom.
This home distinguishes itself from others on the estate by catering to both couples and families. It offers a bunk room, a twin bedroom, and even boasts some rare outdoor garden space.
The landscape within the Dungeness estate is a unique sight to behold. It's adorned with captivating and creative buildings seemingly perched on the pebble shore. These structures coexist among remnants of industrial materials, fisherman's boats, nets, and even some eclectic modern caravans, including the occasional airstream trailer.
The Watch Tower is a unique accommodation that can sleep up to six guests (maximum of four adults) in a detached 1950's tower cottage. It features three bedrooms, one bathroom and an ensuite bathroom. The property offers an extensive courtyard garden with views of the reserve and the power station.
On the ground floor, you enter the rear of the property through the kitchen, which is spacious and well-equipped with everything you and your loved ones need to whip up delicious feasts during your stay. The kitchen is fully stocked with glassware and crockery for up to six guests and a breakfast table that seats six. A sliding door leads to the bathroom.
Outside, the property boasts an extensive patio garden with high borders and mature flower beds. It receives ample afternoon sunshine and features a bench-style table for six guests, along with an additional bistro set that can accommodate up to eight.
Dungeness is situated in a pristine location on the southernmost tip of the bay that stretches from Folkestone to Rye. Here, you can embark on beautiful walks to explore the untamed landscape, marvel at the beauty of the sea, and take in the vast expanse of the skies. Visitors often flock to the Old Lighthouse, a popular attraction, and can also enjoy the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch steam railway, which runs close by, offering a delightful journey along the coast to Hythe and a charming way to savour Kent's scenic beauty.
Within the reserve, you'll find two pubs, The Britannia and The Pilot, along with the unique 'Fish Hut,' where you can purchase freshly caught fish of the day. For a different experience, the historic former smuggler's town of Rye, known for its boutique shops, cosy cafes, and inviting restaurants, is just 10 miles away and well worth a visit.
