Become immersed in the beautiful Kent countryside at The Snuggery, a getaway located in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The property sits in the grounds of the owner's Grade II listed home in the pretty hamlet of Upper Bush on the North Downs.
Set on one level, the open plan interior has been designed to perfectly blend colonial style with countryside charm. The space is light and airy with high vaulted ceilings and natural oak flooring throughout.
Upon entering The Snuggery guests come into the living area, complete with a comfy sofa, armchair and wood burning stove for those cosy nights in. All the furniture throughout the property is hand painted by the owner and is available to purchase. There is also a gate-legged dining table for 2 and the kitchen area has a butler sink, dishwasher, electric cooker, and fridge with ice compartment. In the bedroom there's a comfy king size bed and plenty of storage, while the tiled bathroom has a bath with drench head shower over it, basin, WC, and heated towel rail.
Outside is a paved area with garden furniture leaving you with space to enjoy a drink in the sun or an alfresco meal. There's also access to the raised beds with seasonal herbs and vegetables so guests can pick their own ingredients right on the doorstep. There are lovely touches everywhere, such as the heated bench at the front door so that walking boots can be warmed before putting them on.
Getting out and about in the fresh air has never been easier and there are plenty of walking and hiking opportunities on the North Downs of Kent. This can be accompanied by discovering some of the lovely pubs and restaurants that are nearby. The villages of Cobham and Cuxton both have fine offerings and also shops for essentials, while The Cricketers in Meopham has some gastro pub delights.
The city of Rochester is a little over 3 miles away and is also worth a visit, with its historic cathedral and Norman castle, while Chatham Dockyard has a maritime museum and offers opportunities to climb upon a destroyer and a submarine.

The Snuggery is the perfect getaway from a busy city life. It's located right on the edge of the North Downs so you can literally start your walk at the end of the driveway. The building itself is very welcoming, cosy and furnished in a unique way. Kate was very helpful during our short stay and I would recommend this place to friends.

Beautiful location & accommodation. Remote but only a few minutes from major road networks (you'd never know). A lot of care and attention to detail has been given to this perfect retreat for 2 who just want to get away from it all. Has a real fire, great WiFi & anything you could possible need. Excellent base for exploring Kent or just to stay in & get away from it all.
