Boutique cottage set amidst three acres of gardens, with a lavish shared spa and pool, in the heart of the Lake District.
This fabulous cottage is one of five exclusive boutique residences found on the gorgeous Mirefoot estate in the Lake District. This elegant retreat not only boasts impeccable interior design, it also comes with three acres of gardens to explore, an opulent indoor pool complete with large jacuzzi, sauna, gym and a treatment room. And with only 14 guests onsite at any one time, peace and tranquility comes guaranteed.
The glass hallway gives you a truly wonderful welcome - with a stunning staircase and floor to ceiling windows, it’s quite the entrance. Step through into an open plan kitchen, living and dining area that simply oozes quality. In the lounge you’ll find all the traditional things that you want in a Lake District getaway - beautiful wooden floors, a well-stocked wood burning stove and comfortable leather sofas perfectly placed to take in the views. And the modern devices are a rather welcome addition - from music control pads and integral sound system, to a fabulous wide-screen television.
The dining area is light and airy with doors out to the private patio. Here you’ll find a further table and chairs - perfect for a spot for al-fresco dining or late-night star gazing.
The modern kitchen is a chef’s dream. Not only is it a state-of-the-art beauty, with induction hobs and sleek worksurfaces, you’ll soon discover that its beauty is more than skin deep - delve into the cupboards to discover all the culinary bells and whistles. Your inner Heston will be pleased to discover such delights as an ice cream maker, mixer, steamer - there’s even a blow torch. And if you need any more inspiration, the shelves are well-stocked with some excellent cookery books. Although, if it’s a really special occasion, why not arrange some private dining with Mirefoot’s own private chef?
Upstairs is every bit as luxurious with two ensuite bedrooms (one double, one twin). The Master bedroom is effortlessly chic, with a striking feature window, plenty of beams and lovely design flourishes. And the sumptuous bed is kept delightfully simple with classic crisp white bed linen. The ensuite comes complete with a handsome freestanding bath, walk-in shower and hotel quality towels.
The twin room is full of character with a delightfully beamed ceiling - perfect for children. And the ensuite is dazzling, with an impressive walk-in shower.
Being part of an exclusive boutique cottage development comes with further perks in its exquisite shared facilities. Take time to wander round the established gardens and arboretum - thirty years in the making means that they are utterly spellbinding. And the indoor pool is absolutely divine - with underfloor heating, a large jacuzzi, sauna, gym and treatment room. To top this superb pool-area off, there are two six metre bi-fold doors that look out onto a shared terrace and the gardens beyond.
Being in the heart of the Lake District, the area is unreservedly spectacular. With walks and cycle routes from the door, you can head out and explore without ever needing to get into your car. If you decide to take a break from walking, then Kendal, with its fine selection of restaurants, museums and arts-centre, is just ten minutes down the road. And the wonders of Lake Windermere lie just ten miles away - with everything from Michelin starred dining to a National Trust castle.
