Nestled on a tranquil slice of Lake District countryside on the outskirts of Cartmel, Longlands Farm Cottage offers groups of up to six guests a beautiful place to stay. Dating back to the 17th century, this cottage is full of rustic, old-world charm, whilst making the most of modern amenities to ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible.
The cottage has its own beautiful private garden complete with a luxury hot tub where you and your fellow guests can relax in the warmth of the water whilst breathing in that fresh country air. The garden also has some lovely outdoor dining furniture should you wish to dine alfresco and a wonderful lawn where you can stretch out and soak up the sunshine.
Stepping inside, the cottage has a chic living and dining area which features a striking inglenook fireplace. Throw some logs on the fire and get cosy on the two big, comfy Chesterfield sofas, chatting away with your loved ones planning the next day’s adventures. This space oozes country charm thanks to its oak beamed ceilings and carefully chosen furnishings.
Your designated chef will love cooking up delicious feasts in the nicely-equipped, modern kitchen. There’s even a comfy window seat with lovely hill views and a cute breakfast bar, meaning there are lots of spots for you to sit and keep the cook company whilst they work away. The rustic, farmhouse-style dining area has fabulous oak furnishings, some of which date back to the 1600s, and offers the perfect setup for social mealtimes.
After dinner, you might want to hop back in the hot tub and gaze up at the dark starry night skies. Sit with a glass of bubbles on the elevated deck and luxuriate in the warmth of the water. Another option for an opulent soak, is the huge freestanding bath tub in the family bathroom. This striking bath is the perfect place to unwind in peace after a day exploring the Lake District. There’s also a walk-in shower in the family bathroom for added convenience.
The cottage’s three bedrooms are all lovingly furnished - two of these with super-king size beds and one with bunk beds that are ideal for kids. All of the bedrooms offer stunning views of the surrounding countryside, allowing you to start your day in style.
Longlands Farm Cottage sits on a site that also contains four lovely glamping pods. You can also book these pods, which are available all-year-round. Each pod accommodates up to two guests and they all have modern amenities, private hot tubs and yet more incredible views.
Guests staying at Longlands Farm should take time out to visit the world famous Cartmel, which is home to the magnificent 800-year-old priory, a renowned three-star Michelin restaurant and arguably the country’s loveliest racecourse.
Cartmel, and the wider area, is full of cracking pubs, delightful restaurants and some incredible scenery. Wander the marvellous Lake District’s many hiking and biking trails, and wander the shores of some of the UK’s most beautiful bodies of water. The Lake District is full of the most amazing attractions and these romantic glamping pods offer you and your loved one the perfect base from which to explore.
