Spend days exploring stunning Dumfries and Galloway while enjoying traditional Scottish hospitality at the luxurious Murray Arms.
This historic tavern dates back to the 1700s and much of the authentic charm remains, including the original fireplaces and coving, creating a welcoming atmosphere where guests feel instantly at home. Recent renovations have transformed this beautiful hostelry into a luxurious place to stay which boasts modern, stylish luxury without compromising on character.
On arrival, take a seat in the lounge where large, gold-framed, mirrors reflect light from the large sash windows and guests can sink into the comfy sofas and enjoy a well-earned drink. There are several guest areas where visitors can relax, swap stories with fellow travellers or simply escape with a good book before heading up to bed.
Each room has a bespoke theme from the calming nautical-inspired king size double to the Autumn room which has a striking tree feature-wall and views over the town's clock tower.
Families will love the bright beach-inspired bedroom which sleeps four, a king size bed for the grown-ups and a separate bunk bed area for the children which offers a little privacy for parents. Tea and coffee facilities are available, as in all rooms, so settle into an armchair for the morning cappuccino in the sunlight, or slink back to bed for that delightful five-more-minutes snooze.
Start the day with a relaxing shower in the ensuite bathroom. Luxuriate under the gushing shower, and pamper yourself with the complimentary soaps and shampoos before cocooning in a large fluffy bath towel and heading for breakfast.
Staying at The Murray means complete rest, including a break from cooking. The pub offers guests indulgent breakfasts in the quiet Olive Room, there is also a lounge bar for drinks and snack, as well as a restaurant for great food after long day's exploring the beautiful surroundings.
There is lots to discover in the area, perhaps take the short drive to Laggan and stroll to the whalebone archway before heading back to the restaurant Gather at Laggan - The Murray Arms's sister site.
